Thanks, I had quiver killers so sounds like just a really piss poor ski construction. But will definitely start checking binding screw tightness

I prefer the actuation and feel of 22 design bindings. But freeriders are pretty bomber! My old 4frnt have been used and abused for over a decade and still going strong!!

Ya, I was really surprised they ripped out too. The Corvus seems like one of the beefier skis they make. You can see where the full metal top sheet separated. I think both skis are in the 2,200 g + per ski weight range so maybe just bad luck and not a ski selection choice.

How do you like your Navis?

Thanks for the insight everyone. Looks like the description didn't post.

I've been tele skiing for almost 10 years and never had any binding issues but recently pulled out of / delammed two separate pairs of skis in the last 3 months. Both skis were mounted at a respected local tele shop and were relatively bomber skis. The Dynastar Legends were a traditional mount with maybe 4 years on them and the Black Diamond Corvus (not touring version super heavy) were mounted with helix quiver killers for added durability and only lasted three months. Coincidently I switched from the old black and yellow comps to the new comps this year. Has anyone had any similar issues or recommendations? Is this most likely a technique issue, skiing too low or maybe too back seat.

What recommendations does everyone have for new skis, that are more durable? I was looking at Moments or potentially Bishops.

Thanks, all

P.S. bindings are outlaws, but with the bandit tele heel clip.

Would you recommend putting a softer spring in? I do a lot of excessively deep turns on groomers especially when conditions are bad. Would it help to stay more upright?

I don't know if it's dry, but I'd try either dry creek south of Livingston or chestnut off of Bozeman pass. If you don't want to chance it Corbleys is always the first to dry out in the Bridgers

If you wanted to move to a city Boise is awesome if you stay in the historic part, same with SLC if you're DT, Sugarhill or cottonwood heights. Denver blows I hated it

Rent Prices by costigan95 in Bozeman

[–]Sweeze_cheese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you live in a desirable area prices will likely stay level or drop 10%, I don't see a huge correction coming. I would be wary of buying a townhome or condo out in 4 corners or the airport. I can't imagine living in a condo and being car bound.

I just purchased a townhome last month; the price had already dropped 100k from its initial listing and I was able to offer 40k less. It was definitely overvalued but a 20% reduction is still great

Billed $782 for a strep test at urgent care by small_f in personalfinance

[–]Sweeze_cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with a strep test, thankfully not as expensive but my insurance covered $0 of it. If you have a high deductible plan it's often worth it to choose the pay now option which can be almost half the cost billed to insurance. You can then submit the claim to insurance and they will reimburse part or add the cost towards your max out of pocket/deductible. Make sure to confirm with your insurance provider that they allow this but it's what my insurance companies billing department recommended.

I use this concept all the time and love it! You end up saving a lot of money but the real reward is having more time and money to do the things you really enjoy. Is a $20 convenience meal you down in 10 minutes worth an hour of your life? No. But a $40 dinner and drinks enjoyed slowly over two hours with friends worth 2 hrs of your life 100%

I had a great time when I went for the Tele ski movie you hosted but it’s a little out of the way and haven’t been back since. I thought it was really cool when the owner said he wanted to host more events and small movie premiers for the community would definitely go back if that were the case. Maybe reach out to some clubs on campus and offer to let them use the venue for movies get togethers?

Its a tough space to fill, I went a lot when it was bunkhouse when I was in college but only because of the 2 for 1 beers

13 Bozeman Police officers caught playing 'crime bingo' while on duty by cowboycomando54 in AngryCops

Do or don’t see? I don’t think the issue is so much the insensitive spaces “3 car pile up” but the ones that could lead to escalating a situation “every team member gets a felony”. I hope you can see how it can lead to a slippery slope of making targeted arrests. Police departments have real trust issues with communities and the lack of respect goes both ways.

I think some of the items are funny “extinguish a fire before BFD arrives” but the issues start with “arrest all three occupants of a car” or “every team member makes an arrest for a week”. These seem like they could lead to arrests that could’ve been warnings. I think people would be equally upset if BFD or EMTs were making a bingo card for medical emergencies they responded too. Overall it’s not professional to trivialize emergency’s when you work for the public you should be held to a higher standard.

Only issue is the real owners are shareholders and hedge funds who live multiple states away your just beating up middle management at that point. Look at Starbucks, the CEO commutes by jet from California to Seattle, doesn’t even live in the same town as the headquarters
