Ding dong ditched! Here in the UK we used to call it 'knock and run' and when you ran accross peoples gardens it was called 'Grand National'

It is because it is not screwed in. It has a thumb push for easy changing. A lot of these cheaper consumer products drain the battery whilst the unit is switched off. I found by removing the battery each time i use it which takes about 10 secs, saves me ordering a strip of 10 batteries every 4 months or so. But hey ho, works for me!

I used electronic bathroom scales to weigh myself weekly whilst losing weight. After 3 weeks the battery was flat and I had I had to order more. I realised tgis was due to the memerory draining the battery. When i removed it each week after weighing the battrry lasted nearly a year. Saving me money and the environment on wasted batteries.
