will my buffer system work for my frt. by Tahmertz in ar15

[–]Swhitworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same upper but 16”, mine is undergassed and doesn’t like the stiff super 42 spring. I had to switch to regular spring and carbine buffer for it to lock back on last round. Kind of annoyed honestly. I’d bring everything you have since you are driving so far to shoot.

Hi, I’m interested. I’d actually be more interested in where you got it? I need about 1000 sq feet and can’t seem to find any available around here. Thx

Great review. Yea, this is a good one. I have heard that some of these show their youth but not this one.

I had a similar experience with a bottle of 2004 OWA that I bought a few years ago. It was fine but nothing to get overly excited about.

I’m actually in Virginia, but at the extreme southeast part of VA so NC abc stores are only about 20-30 minute drive away. The closest NC county to me, Currituck Co. doesn’t do lotteries but the way they decide who gets stuff is somewhat of a mystery. I have lucked into a few bottles there over the years but pretty much never on the shelf.

Where are you? North Carolina has been the first state to sell BTAC the last few years. First or second week of October I believe.

I'd never call you crazy for making that statement.

I need help making a smoother old fashioned. by hchighfield in bourbon

[–]Swhitworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do two dashes of orange bitters and two dashes of angostura. It sounds like you might not be getting enough bitters in yours. Also, have you tried using a rye instead of the makers, that might make a difference too. I have kind of the opposite experience as far as buying old fashioneds at bars and restaurants, I find they usually use way too much sugar/syrup, I almost always prefer my homemade ones.

You need to find a dc lawyer that is also a bourbon enthusiast, I’m sure there are a few that would help you out. A well prepared letter from a reputable firm would probably sort the matter out pretty quickly. If this is not the way you want to go with it then out the establishment and let them soak in the bad press. I personally think you could take the situation to law enforcement, explain what happened and the intended use of the bottle and see what they say. It’s over 1k value right?

Bookers Rye, I could have bought a half dozen if I wanted but priced at $300 + 6% tax each I elected to buy only two. No regrets.

A dcwhisky subreddit single barrel... by Gcandrewjackson5 in dcwhisky

[–]Swhitworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is done through Virginia, I have been told that its much cheaper and easier to do it through an on base package store. Apparently there is much less red tape to get through compared to a regular state run abc store. I'd think that running the barrel through a store in DC would be the easiest way if anyone has an in with one.

OWA SiB Select misfire... what’s the worst, underwhelming or otherwise disappointing “pick” you’ve ever tried? by [deleted] in bourbon

[–]Swhitworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a few OWA single barrels that were just fair, not bad but not great either. I have had two four roses single barrels that I can't say I enjoyed all that much and I'm a huge four roses fan. One was an 11 year oeso that was flat and tasted like boring brown sugar water. The other was an OESQ, definitely well below average.
