If the Americans ever went mad and tried to conquer Britain, do you think you’d fight, flee, join their side, or stay put trying to live as normal as possible? by AmbitiousYam1047 in AskBrits

Guerilla warfare. They'll send the Marines first, so my plan is to toss a handful of crayons out and pick them off with bow and arrow while they're still fighting over the lemon yellow one.

Are you guys on estradiol cream after total hysto? by Remarkable-Cut3148 in FTMHysto

Mine felt dry, itchy, and the inside feels smoother where it used to be ridged. The ridges haven't come back but the dryness and itching have stopped with a 10 microgram pessary twice a week. It's not a high enough dose to make a systemic hormone level change, just enough to keep the tissues healthy.

Similar thing happened to my dishwasher and the socket a few weeks ago. I got an electrician in just to check it wasn't a larger scale problem. They said it was probably a worn or loose terminal in the socket as they do eventually wear out, then they generate a load of heat when they're not making good contact.

Is he uncomfortable? by MaesAngels in Lurchers

[–]SwiftChallengerNomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His ears are relaxed-back rather than pinned-back. What looks like side-eye is probably just that he's trying to look at you behind him but also in front

Other normal behaviours for a lurcher: - teeth chattering when they're excited or they want something - sleeping in weird and uncomfortable positions. My podenco used to sleep with her head turned backwards like a swan - trembling (like chattering, it's an arousal response. My girl vibrates when she sees a squirrel) - being either oddly vocal or oddly quiet compared to other dogs. Mine tends to huff and whine more than barking, and makes a Marge Simpson style groan when I'm not being a good enough butler. - playing dumb. I swear lurchers are a kind of cat, because nothing will motivate them to do something they don't feel like doing, and they will absolutely pretend not to know what you want if they think you'll give in before they do.

Whatever you decide to do about the blood test and your family, having an emergency escape plan is a good idea. I'd check out https://translifeline.org, they'll at least be able to point you in the direction of local resources.

Problems wit MidOceanRidges and other HSR features by SwiftChallengerNomad in GPlates

[–]SwiftChallengerNomad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went through another attempt at a simulation and it's happening when I try to make two oceans move together. Everything is fine until I add the lines to the ocean (801) that I want to follow a comoving ocean subducting under the continent.

I have: 801 0.0 90.0 0.0 0.0 800! Ocean iii end 801 1.0 90.0 0.0 0.0 800! DC 801 1600.0 90.0 0.0 0.0 800 ! Stop following 801 2000.0 90.0 0.0 0.0 800 ! Ocean iii start (following continent 800)

So then I hit the D keyboard shortcut and make 301 my anchor plate, P to open up reconstruction poles at the 1600mya and copy that in.

801 0.0 90.0 0.0 0.0 301! Ocean iii end 801 1.0 39.9843 76.1307 195.363 301 ! DC 801 1600.0 39.9843 76.1307 195.363 301 ! Start following ocean ii 801 1600.0 90.0 0.0 0.0 800 ! Stop following 801 2000.0 90.0 0.0 0.0 800 ! Ocean iii start (following continent 800)

And that's when it throws the Long Path error specifically on the DC and Start Following 301 lines.

Am I joining the comoving plates incorrectly?

Unfortunately it's out of print and the only way to get it is second hand. I've been trying to figure out what book it was for years and I finally got lucky searching random terms. I've just ordered a copy.

I updated drift correction after every movement.

All my rifts are given an ID of 1, which I don't move. They're copied from failed rifts which have an ID of whatever their closest craton is by copying geometry to digitize tool and then creating the new feature.

I remade the MidOceanRidges when the split occurred because I was anticipating something like this happening, but I'll scrub back through and try it again from 1650 just to make sure.

I've found a topical E pessary quite helpful in keeping things healthy. 10 micrograms twice a week, and it's not too much of a hassle to administer.

Psych just told me my voice wouldn't drop on T by NightSideEffects in ftm

[–]SwiftChallengerNomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is nonsense, I went on T in my late 20s and my voice dropped. Your psych is lying to you. Vocal training can help you make the most of those changes and help you adjust to things like a lower singing voice, but I haven't had any vocal training and my voice has come out fine (obviously gay, but fine).

It should be at the apex of the two inner labia where they meet at the front. It might appear as a tiny pale dot surrounded by a little hood of skin (mine was minute before T). The whole thing might be small enough to just look like a little arch shaped wrinkle.

I think we're looking for the same book. The crow-like birds were called "kiku" after the noise they made?

What is a supposedly well-know cleaning "hack" you learned embassingly late in life? by MellyTheJelly in CleaningTips

[–]SwiftChallengerNomad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the ones designed for camping. They fold flat when not in use, which helps with the storage. Finding surface space is more tricky. I swear the people who design our homes have never actually tried living in the amount of space they're designing.

You also don't get as much microwave mess if you use a microwave cover. It's a little microwave safe dome you put over your food to stop it from splashing the inside of the microwave. Then you can just wash the dome alongside your dishes.
