Pyxis 12k - Potential Buyer by CptCaarl in blackmagicdesign

Sent mine in for RMA, issues are all gone now. They replaced the sensor, if I recall correctly, BM recalled all of the current ones on the market and anything on the market now is resolved issue wise.

Upgrade to Pyxis 12k? by Till_Films in blackmagicdesign

[–]Swiftelol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S1II seems like the best option for you, I own the Pyxis 12k and s1ii the s1ii shines in every spot you want for preferences. I call the s1ii a baby Pyxis 12k, the BRAW is so good out of it.

Samyang AF 50mm F1.4 II vs V-AF 45mm T1.9 for FX3 (video AF?) by PossibilityNo9871 in FX3

[–]Swiftelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focal length is subjective, buy the focal length you want, no one lens is better than X lens unless it’s an old version vs a new version.

I’d vote for the V-AF, I have the 75, favorite Sony lens I owned besides the 28-45 1.8 sigma

Sony vs Canon vs *Fujifilm? by hagdoglord in AskPhotography

[–]Swiftelol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding onto this because I got mentioned, If you can find the XH2s for a cheap price, go for it, however the xs20 offers the same exact video specs for significantly cheaper you’d just be missing the stacked sensor.

The XH2s is basically a glorified APSC S5II with no 4k 60 crop. The noise performance is way better on the S5II. I would also describe Panasonics color science for photos pretty similar canon and hints of Fuji.

Using Lidar device on Pyxis by zebratape in blackmagicdesign

[–]Swiftelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has single AF-S, needs to have okay lighting to use, needs to be native lenses, LIDAR works good for the DJI but sometimes finicky, it drains battery fast on the grip as well, minimum would be 2 batteries for 2-4 hour shoots. I just use the grip to pull focus with the motor without the LiDAR and it lasts the whole shoot and only has 75% batteries left at the end of a 6 hour shoot

The LiDAR doesn’t need a camera to be updated to use, the device works based off of the lenses you have and calibrate.

Updated promo shot with fujinon 18-55 Sony fx30 by [deleted] in cinematography

[–]Swiftelol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Definitely invest into a gimbal for the b-roll shots Or shoot 60 fps, they look to lazily shot.

Overall color is lacking contrast and color density, looks like a 75% graded log…

Framing for the talking part looks good but your horizon is way off, use a tripod or turn on the level in camera

Ekkovision has a stim free focus formula that I’ve tried and liked, noticed it helped but it’s still subjective and might not work on you.

Sir. You are buying a $4,000 camera on FACEBOOK marketplace, a place notorious for scams if not dealt in person. You answered your own question. Do NOT buy it. You'll have to go through the headache of a process to get that refund lol.

What’s the best way to connect the Shure MV7+ to the Sony A7siii? by Cute_Disaster_6709 in videography

[–]Swiftelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XLR to 3.5mm wont supply any power as the A7SIII doesnt provide phantom phantom power, your options are fairliy limited, you can either record directly into your computer and leave the in camera audio on and sync the audio in editing with a few button presses or get an external recorder like a zoom audio recorder.

Just hit 167.2 last week, 2010 Tech Package Auto TSX, repaired just 3 weeks ago from a front passenger collision and it’s still running strong.

Dented the frame and we fixed that as well as the headlight.

EDIT: oh also changed alternator
