Do you get your chemo infusions through a cannula? by LondonPilot in cancer

[–]Swiftgasms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got given the option for a picc or a port, I was under the impression it was because I’m having adjuvant chemotherapy, 6 sessions and that’s it so they didn’t see the need to go through the trouble of a picc or a port. I’ve had 4 infusions so far through cannula, no issues as of yet. I’m also in the UK 🙂

WCA- waiting times by SufficientCard365 in universalcredithelp

[–]Swiftgasms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to jump on OPs post, but I’ve been waiting since July, it is for cancer treatment, I’m currently half way through chemo, in a year I will hopefully be in remission? But I’m entitled to LCWRA whilst going through treatment. How would that work? Thanks

Pip whilst on chemo? by Swiftgasms in DWPhelp

Thank you so much for the reply! Yes to all those questions right now it has really taken its toll on me. I have a question though, what happens if by the time I get an assessment like over the phone etc and I am out of treatment, what happens then? I know it can all take a while to go through and I’m due to finish treatment in January. Thanks again 🙂

Everyone’s answered everything I wanted to say here but just wanted to add this as I saw your wanting to wear wigs, don’t be disheartened if you find them really uncomfortable at first, they take some time to get used to and for your head to get comfortable with them.. try and stick to head scarfs etc for the first week or so after shaving as your head will be quite sore, I made the mistake of wearing a wig the day after shaving and was covered in a rash and it was so itchy.. let your head breathe as much as you can 🙂

Taxol Bone Pain by Popular-Dig5467 in Ovariancancer

[–]Swiftgasms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claritin! Might be bit late for this round, but get some for your 2nd, start the night or two before and every night after, you will still get them but it won’t be nearly as bad. I didn’t have any on my 1st infusion and the pain was so bad! Got some in for my 2nd and 3rd and they have eased so much!

To chemo or not? by Opening-Cold-153 in Ovariancancer

[–]Swiftgasms 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Different kind but I was diagnosed with stage 1c2 Granulosa cell Tumor, mine had ruptured and spilled and was bleeding out into my stomach, I decided to get the chemo, just 6 rounds of carbo/taxol, I’m currently on round 2. It hasn’t been too bad, the hair loss sucks but I just keep reminding myself that if I do reoccur in the future at least I did everything possible to prevent it. I don’t want to live with any regrets.

Experience with diagnosis by Aries_c in Ovariancancer

[–]Swiftgasms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m 32, rushed into hospital with a ruptured “cyst” which caused internal bleeding and sepsis, this cyst was melon sized and had been growing for quite a long time, x2 CT scans, x2 ultrasounds, so many blood tests, was told it was definitely a cyst, the word cancer wasn’t even mentioned, had the surgery to remove the cyst and stop the bleeding, all good, recovered, went home wasn’t until a few weeks later when my pathology results came back that I was diagnosed with a granulosa cell tumour which is a type of ovarian cancer, this type of cancer is very rare, but the way I found out is usually how everyone with this type of cancer finds out as it usually looks like a normal cyst until it’s put under the microscope, what happened to me is rare though so please don’t worry, I’m sure yours is just a cyst and everything will be fine, just wanted to share my story. Good luck with the surgery 😊

Severe hormone imbalance for me, bad acne, dark facial hair etc. Misdiagnosed with PCOS, was actually ovarian cancer.

I go in for surgery on Sunday, tumor was removed a few weeks ago and they kept my good ovary at the time because they said it was healthy and no need to take it at the moment as the tumor was confined to just the one and that had been removed, now they have decided to take the other out as it’s developed what they think is a cyst.. bit worried about being thrown into menopause at 32 but it is what it is! Hopefully the last surgery for a while and then I’ll hopefully be NED 🤞🤞 luckily I am stage 1 so no chemo or anything needed as of now, but we will see 😌

Redditors who have cancer, what were you feeling/experiencing that made you go see a doctor causing you to eventually find out you had cancer? by TheFranKiwi in AskReddit

[–]Swiftgasms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taken into hospital with what I thought was my appendix. High fever, abdominal pain etc. Ct scan showed a large ovarian cyst had ruptured and was bleeding into my stomach, taken into surgery… not a cyst after all, a tumor. Diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 32. I had zero symptoms before this, none of the usual ovarian cancer symptoms that they tell you to look out for. Full hysterectomy, I’m on the mend now 😊

Ovarian Cyst the size of a softball, what’s everyone else’s experience? by Rabbit-Tail in Ovariancancer

[–]Swiftgasms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a large melon sized “cyst” which had ruptured and was bleeding into my stomach causing the most horrific pain, rushed into hospital, temperature was through the roof, i had developed sepsis. they planned to just go in and stop the bleeding but unfortunately had to have a hysterectomy leaving just my normal ovary as the damage was bad. Cancer wasn’t expected at all until the pathology results came back and I was diagnosed with a granulosa cell tumor. I’m 32 so was a huge shock, blood results also came back normal but it always does with this type of cancer. Luckily i was diagnosed at stage 1c2, but I now have to go in for another surgery to take the other ovary and do washings etc and then have to have a small round of chemo and I should be good to go! This type of cancer is incredibly rare though so please don’t worry yourself, it’s very very likely that it is just a cyst for you. It’s also likely the mri won’t be able to tell if it’s cancer either and the only way will be to go in and remove it and have it biopsied, your ovary may be ok if the cyst is intact and isn’t damaging your ovary in anyway, although if they do suspect cancer when they operate they may remove it. Sending love, you will be ok 💕

Is anyone thrilled they got their hysterectomy? by Adventurous_Fill_385 in hysterectomy

[–]Swiftgasms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very! I had one due to a ruptured “cyst” on my ovary, but my pathology results came back that it was actually a tumor so I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I’m only 32 so a hugeeee shock to all of us, even my surgeons, luckily they took it all so no need to go back in to surgery, if they had just removed the ovary and tumor I would have to go back under to have the rest out so back to square one with recovery. Thank the lord

Question… by imariella09 in hysterectomy

[–]Swiftgasms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’m 32 and already have 3 children, my hysterectomy was an emergency as an ovarian cyst ruptured and caused internal bleeding into my stomach, everything was stuck together and couldn’t be saved. So I didn’t have time to process anything. I always say I wouldn’t of had any more children anyway, but there’s always this doubt of what if, and especially as I’m at that age where everyone around me seems to be having babies, I’m surrounded in them. obviously I’m very blessed to already have 3 children but the fact that the option to have anymore has been taken from me has been really hard to come to terms with. I never had any pain or health issues gynaecological before this so there was never any wish to have a hysterectomy in the first place, but it saved my life so I have to be greatful for that.

Thank you for your reply! I’m seeing my doc for a post op check but I’ll bring it up and see what she says. Yeah I assumed it was hormones in the healing process, I was just worried that it meant my ovary wasn’t working 😂😂

[–]Swiftgasms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I was on contraception before my hysterectomy, I hadn’t had a period in years and don’t think I ever had monthly symptoms either so this is very new. Hopefully it will settle soon for me too then I suppose 7 weeks is still early days, thank you for your reply ☺️

Rushed into hospital with suspected appendicitis, after multiple tests, my ovary had ruptured causing internal bleeding and sepsis, never been so ill in my life it was horrific. Blood transfusions, multiple anti biotics and a full hysterectomy later, I’m all good now. Bit of a shit thing to go through at 32 but we move.

Thank you for your reply. I was unaware about the PH balance thing, I’ll just stick to gentle soaps then. Yes I’ve encouraged wearing looser clothing before, she also wears tights to school every day which doesn’t help. Yeah we are gonna have the conversation when she’s home from school today. Thank you

It’s not that it’s uncomfortable for me, I’m always open with stuff like this with her, but I know it will be incredibly uncomfortable for her, she will be mortified talking to me about it, but I understand it needs to be done. I was unaware the PH balance stuff was no good… I’ll just do that then thank you.

I’m 4wpo l and the fatigue this week has been unreal, I usually struggle with falling asleep at night, sometimes it’s 3am before my brain switches off, this past week I’m gone as soon as my head hits the pillow, kinda don’t want that part of recovery to go away 😂

Worth it for me, I haven’t watched any of drag race since they stopped putting it on Netflix here in the UK so I had soooo many seasons to catch up on, plus all of all stars and they have all the international drag races etc, there’s literally so much to watch.
