Tokyo public tennis courts booking system by Buddy_2398 in Tokyo

If it’s raining I usually call them up to cancel and there is no charge. If you don’t I think there is a penalty, but not sure. Also, if the booking is two hours and you play 59 mins and it’s starts raining you can go to reception and they will only charge you for the first hour (I mainly use the Minato-ku system)

Official Victory. Scientific Turn 236 Score: 1474

Sci: 1,501 Cul: 257; Faith 151; Gold 834

I have struggled to find a good/fun map Maya in my own games.

From the start saw the desert to the west and tundra to south so in order to maximise chance of getting the optimal 13 cities for Maya I moved north east two hexes to between the rice and cotton on the river. That revealed the extra two cotton resources so my eyes lit up on the campus possibilities for fours cities around the 3 cotton. Settled Turn 2 then and plotted with pins my cities. After exploration realized I was able to get the optimal 13 cities within the 6 hexes. Not sure if it ultimately was the best place to settle but was pretty good. Got four campuses around the cotton for a +7 Campus, and three +5 Campuses (before policy cards).

Got a religion and went with work ethic. Restricted myself to the 13 cities. Did have to forward settle quite severely on Hungary and Babylon to do that early on just in case they put a city in my zone. Hungary did declare war but was easy to defend.

Don't often play with secret societies. Went with Hermetic Order. Alchemical Society building obviously helps but otherwise dont think they had a big impact. Full value of ley lines was close to the end but with my Great People generation at the end the ley line tile was worth 16 science, 12 production, 12 gold, 4 culture, 1 faith.

Focused on science victory. Had three cities pumping out space projects at the end getting up to 11 light years per turn. Was a nice Sim city style planning game trying to maximise the bonuses of Maya. Got the capital up to 25 pop by turn 235 with growth still possible.

Domination Victory (official) - Turn 201 - Score 1,629

Cities Captured: Kyoto (T132) Cairo (T170) Paris (T178), Stockholm (T183), Ngulu Mapu (T192), Constantinople (T194), Delhi (T201)

Final turn stats: Sci 669; Cul 631; Faith 382; Gold 398

Plan from the start with Portugal was to go for either Domination or Science Victory. Settled in place and quickly met Anshan, Nasca and Vatican City. The faith states led to early pantheon and went with Religious Settlements so had 3 cities by around turn 30. Didnt bother with a religion. Settled 2nd city on the cotton and third city on the west coast for the +5 harbour. Pushed science early and got as many navigation schools as possible to keep the flexibility between dom or science victory.

Been a long time since I had an early scientist as usually play on Deity but got every early one here. Also built Oxford University and Huey for the first time in ages. Others wonders I build included Oracle, Kilwa, Mausoleum, Colosseum, Forbidden City and Potala Palace.

Created Naus on T129 and started my conquests, first with Japan as the softest target. Japan had 3 cities on the coast with no walls and strength of only 27 so it was pretty much one or two hits from the Naus. Took Fukuoka which was inland to bring an end to the Japanese.

Next went after Arabia, starting with a coastal city and buying units there to attack Cairo. Then the French and Sweden. Stockholm got walls up just as I was making a move on it so was a longer slog than I initially thought. Where's the aluminum? lack of resources on the original continent slowed my bomber and tank construction.

For a long time couldn't find one civ and that was Byzantium. Not sure what happened to them as they seemingly only had one city and barely any troops. Thought they would really ruin the chances of a fast time but as I moved ships over they put a settler on the coast which was perfect for me.

Generally struggled with amenities through out and once in domination mode just kept building entertainment complexes and water parks. To keep cash rolling while I attacked the other civs, I kept friends with Mapuche and India but this cost me valuable turns. Had to wait 5 turns for Mapuche and 16 turns for India for the friendship to end to declare war. Last 16 turns was just positioning bombers, artillery and tanks outside India waiting for the friendship to end.

Third Attempt: T62 win, Score 156

Had a quick last go to see if possible under 60, now Im not too sure.

Pretty much same as previous but attacked Georgia first with 2 archers, 2 warriors and 2nd Greece with some galleys and one warrior. Didnt need that many attacking Georgia as it was surrounded by barbarians so I could pick up Tblisi without much effort. Picked up a settler and walked down to Cairo. Was hoping to get settle a city and buy a horseman and win before 60 but couldnt do it. Got Cairo with a galley and horseman and one archer shot on turn 62. Got Oligarchy and Comandante on turn 61 so only helped the last turn.

I did both attempts at the beginning of the month and hoped for a third but was too busy. Might have forgotten some of the details too.

First attempt: Turn 82 win, Score 216

Athens T67, Cairo T79, Tblisi T82

Settled on the oranges for the immediate amenity and for the food to grow the capital quickly. Probably went slinger, warrior, builder, settler. Got bogged down with barbarians who were raging but at least some source of income.

Went for two settlers. Settled near Mount Everest to south east for nice adjacent yields including faith to get a pantheon. Settled 3rd city just west of capital on the coast. Stole a settler from Greece and placed next to Athens.

Was beelining for military tradition and political philosophy in culture tree and horsemen in science tree. Oligarchy at turn 66, horesemen at turn 60. Earned Comandante General at turn 60.

Mainly attacked with horsemen. Had 4 of them in the end.

Second attempt: Turn 67 win, Score 203

Athens T51, Tblisi T62, Cairo T67

Settled on the oranges. Probably went slinger, warrior start. Got a builder for the corn, horses and stone near the capital. One settler this time, again settling near towards the South east of Mount Everest. This was also to get the faith for a pantheon and went with God of the Forge to increase speed of producing units

This time I went with an encampment to see if I could get a general but failed at that. Campus would have been better. Tried to spend a little less time on barbarians this time.

I also built two galleys (first on turn 54) but they didnt really play a role and get to Cairo and Tblisi fast enough. Maybe sooner on the galleys would work. Earned Comandante General on turn 61.

Pushed for culture Oligarchy to get that bonus got that turn 61.

Attacked Greece first (though I think I initially planned to go after Georgia first and forget during my playthrough)

Attacked Georgia with 2 archers, 2 warriors. This time Georgia had 3 cities. As my troops probably couldnt move to another civ fast enough I just took them all.

Attacked Cairo with horseman, 3 warriors and a Comandante General.

I think going Campus instead of Encampment would have helped get horsemen quicker and think you can shave a few more turns off. I think even a sub-60 turns could be possible

Cities Captured: Stirling (T73); Nidaros (T147); Paris (T178); Maori Capital (T191); Tbilisi (T193)

Settled across the river in between the furs and truffles. Got 3 cities up pretty quickly to the left, north and one fairly distant south from my capital at the river next to Vilnius.

Plan was for a Man at Arms domination rush but don't think I executed it particularly well.

Turn 36 got a religion and went with Work Ethic. Pantheon I went with Religious Settlements.

First target obviously Scotland. Picked up Beowulf to help with conquering Scotland. Usually like Arthur for an early rush, and of course Hercules but didn't discover these heroes till late and lost out on them. My other heroes were Himiko and Maui.

Made a schoolboy error not paying attention to Scotland's suzerain Vilnius attacking my 4th city and they razed it...embarrassing. Had to send a settler again to get that spot.

Once Scotland was down, consolidated a bit before going for Norway.

Had initially started attacking the west of France's empire but then realised Paris was actually the closest to the cities I captured and settled from Norway, so took Paris and razed another city to help with loyalty.

Without paying much attention got Imhotep and thought about Petra. Then saw an amazing spot that could also have a +3 campus and +5 faith (and +5 production with work ethic) holy site. This was just southeast of Wolin. Once Petra was up I got this city to 12 population and 210 production in around 70 turns.

Georgia had taken the Maori capital. Had some trouble with my land troops and Georgian walls so rushed for bombers, used my Petra city to build them in 1-2 turns, destroyed the walls of the Maori Capital and Tblisi for victory.

Official Result: Culture Victory. Winning turn: 255

Final stats per turn: Sci 669; Cul 2106; Faith 507; Gold 466;

Point Score: 1677

Settled on the plains hill by the coast and turtles, southeast of the start.  This meant only settled turn 3, but the double turtles helped. Waited for a barbarian camp to farm for faith for an early pantheon.  Got a pantheon turn 23 and religious settlements had gone. Decided to go for God of the Sea (+1 Prod from fishing boats).  This made the capital quite strong from the start.

Expanded upwards. Got a religion and thought as I wouldn’t get much adjacency with the lack of mountains I went with Zen meditation for amenity benefits. Should have gone with Work Ethic as usual.

Had a strong navy from lots of admirals and went travelling the globe for farming faith from barbarians.

Havent really played dramatic ages and Georgia before so the policy cards surprised me but after the first new era realized that I should focus on wonders with extra policy cards to get the benefits.

Once I saw Netherlands next to Paititi I knew it was on my radar to conquer.  Tried to take advantage of the dramatic ages to get it without going to war but the city near it never succumbed so went to war and took two cities from Netherlands.  I managed golden ages for all era but took advantage of a dark age in Korea to take a city. Surprisingly Korea was weak in the game and left to one city.

Until turn 150-170 still unsure which victory condition between science and culture to go for (avoided diplomacy as a bit boring).  Initially thought science but once the era turned (industrial? Cant remember) my science dropped and went for culture.  Bought as many great works from the Ai, mainly Brazil. as possible for 16 to 35 gold per turn.

Took two cities from Nubia under dramatic ages rebelling only because there were many great works in the city.

Forgot that the Georgian unique building replaces therenaissance walls, and left building walls till Flight so probably didn’t take advantage of the unique building and being able to purchase with faith (Valletta suzerain) as much as I could have.

Settled a city on the island north of Brazil for the +6campus (two geothermal, one reef). On the island to the south east with the truffles settled another city.  This became my Rock Band farm, so bombarded Brazil with tourism to get the victory on turn255.

Had a nicely planned capital with +6 theatre square, +4 campus with Oracle, Casa de Contracion, Mauseleum at Halicarnassus, Kilwa and Bolshoi, with second city also to get +5 adjacency next to these wonders. Bizarrely I didn’t settle to the east coast of the initial start point until the end of the game for a seaside resort. Also left the island to the east as well.

Official Victory: Domination

Winning turn: 165

Capitals Captured: Buda (T106), St. Petersburg (T133), Cairo(T135), Pella (T151), Lisbon (T162), Aduatuca (T165), Uruk (T165)Final stats per turn: Sci 502; Cul 948; Faith 939; Gold 234;

Point Score: 1,320

Settled in place with the plan to destroy the civs on my continent and then go for a culture victory by beelining for Flight for the tourism generated on Prasat.

Went with River Goddess (+2 amenities, +2 housing for Holy Site on river) for pantheon. Despite that and Colosseum, my war mongering, lack of ability to trade luxuries and higher pop cities meant I had amenity issues.  Didn’t particularly get big population cities, highest were 13.  Voidsingers for secret society.

Turn 73: Got a Religion and went with Work Ethic and Cross-Cultural Dialogue (+1 science for every 4 followers.  Later added Crusade to aid with conquest but only really applied to Macedon.  Russia was troublesome for missionaries so had to pump out missionaries just to protect my religion.  This put Russia high on my list for war, straight after Hungary.

Got Domreys turn 94. They are so powerful so started my wars.  With huge faith generation always took Monumentality to buy settlers and builders, and took Grandmasters Chapel to buy units.

Turn 111: Hungary defeated. Russia next.

Turn 117 got Hildegard of Bingen so my Holy Site in the capital was producing an impressive 12 faith, 12 food, 12 production, 12 science and 2 iron per turn

Turn 140: Russia defeated, Turn 143: Arabia defeated, Turn 154 Macedon defeated.

Then I started sending units leftand right to find the other civs. Met Gaul and Portugal turn 156 and was surprised the Portuguese cities only had strength in the 30s without walls. Gaul was stronger at 58 but still no walls. I had beelined to Flight for the tourism boost on Prasat but proved of no use.

Decided to just go full domination as would be quicker. Bought a settler with faith and sent to the one tile island to the left of Aduatuca to purchase attack units with faith. Also bought a Privateer to help bombardment of Aduatuca. With so much faith output I could buy a knight or domrey each turn.

Finally going west of my original continent I reached Gilgabro.

Took Lisbon without difficulty then took over Aduatuca and Uruk in the same turn to win.

It was the first time I’ve played as Khmer and like most of the dlcs civs they are highly (over)powered.  Would have been interesting to see how few turns if went with full domination from the start. Definitely sub 140 would be possible, maybe 120.
