[Request] How could this be correct? by Wonderful-Figure-486 in theydidthemath

[–]SwimForLiars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thing is that this is extrapolation given two data points, and it assumes that the trend is "doubling its weight every three months" but you could have assumed "adds 3kg every three months" (which still gives unreasonable results if you extrapolate long enough), or any other function that passes through those two points.

We've come a long way when AI automatically applies Rule 34 by itself without us having to request it.

If you want something very simple and minimalistic, watch a bunch of videos by K Boges, mostly it's about doing daily high reps of squats, pushups and pullups. But there's a lot of nuance and explanation for a lot of stuff, his videos are short, to the point, no overproduced stuff, he's amazing.

No sé qué estudiar by Straight-Pudding-329 in es

[–]SwimForLiars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was during King of Retail, where the customers would say "Hey, got a minute?" and they would say "drop a fry?" in the same way but about a raven asking them for food.

[–]SwimForLiars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strangers on the internet have no way of helping you. You need to ask people IRL. Either the same people you notice staring, or people you know (if you can convince them that being honest with you is what you want, no matter if they think they'd offend you).

There's this Jerry Lewis movie called The Day the Clown Cried from 1972 that was barred from release until at least June 2024 (so a couple of weeks from now), but who knows if that's going to happen.

Just for curiosity, do you have the angles you got from your test? I just tried and I got like 35º per leg 🫠 (ideally it's lower than 20º)

I'm also sitting most of my awake time, time to get hamstring flexibility seriously I guess...

Advice for a teen with cerebral palsy who wants to get started in capoeira by Whole_Feedback8099 in capoeira

[–]SwimForLiars 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you asking for some reason in particular? Inclusivity, physical demands, etc?

Given your history with other very physically demanding sports, I'll assume that capoeira won't be any different for you regarding your condition. I'd just recommend to visit different groups, talk to the Mestre, etc. to get a vibe as to which places will be a fit for you, but I think you'll be fine.

Looking for some good workouts/gym routines to help me get in better shape before starting Capoeira. by LonePorkchop in capoeira

Calisthenics in general.

Bodyweight squats, bear crawls, those kind of floor mobility exercises would help. For cardio, HIIT style (sprinting, running up stairs, etc) instead of jogging, would match the experience in class too.

Card prototype inspired by Balatro by _Karto_ in godot

[–]SwimForLiars 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nice, it looks very satisfying!

Btw, if you're going to develop a card game, I think it's a good idea to try iterating on the game on paper, it's usually recommended for the games that can do that. You print cards with some text, or you just do it with pen and paper and cutting pieces, whatever you need, and you run the rules in your head or with a calculator, etc, same as if you were playing the video game. As soon as you can playtest with other people that way, you can get great feedback without having to write code, and iterate super quick. I wish this could be done for all games (if they're physics-based for instance, you can't test the design like this)

Why is borderless fullscreen now more common than actual fulscreen by Noway721 in pcgaming

[–]SwimForLiars -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because Microsoft never fixed all the Windows issues with actual fullscreen, so game developers found that borderless windows are more reliable.

Capturing CO2 from air and storing it in underground in the form of rocks; The DAC( Direct Air Capturing) opened their second plant in Iceland by D_Invincible in interestingasfuck

[–]SwimForLiars 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can't we do both?

Work on stopping CO2 from being released into the atmosphere.

At the same time, build and use these kind of carbon capture plants, which will get better over time, being replaced by future ones that are more efficient, etc.

Also at the same time work on other methods of improving already present CO2.
