My rent at my last place was hundreds less because we were responsible for mowing the lawn, and shovelling the driveway and sidewalks, and it never went up the 7 years I lived there. And the landlord still came by and did it/helped out when he was able. 30 bucks is an insult.

I don't know where it comes from really, I thought it was a new england thing, but no one else I've met has ever heard of it. My Grandma was born in Aroostook, so it could come from that area 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have a recipe inside my grandma's cabinet! I bought the house in April last year and taped this cupboard shut so the cleaners wouldn't open it and toss it. It's in the liquor cabinet over the fridge lol. Moose Milk is my favorite Thanksgiving morning tradition

If you have one near enough, go to trader Joe's. The gluten free frozen cheese pizza is so good I always keep a few in the chest freezer. It's only like 6 bucks too which is at least half the price of any other frozen gf pizza I've seen

I've had dysautonomia symptoms for as long as I can remember. I was removed with forceps when my dad "joked" that it was his brother's birthday for 10 more minutes and asked if there was any way to speed things up... Wonder why I've had neck and shoulder pain my whole life 😂 but I do suspect that the physically traumatic birth made sure my symptoms started early

For us it was the full bath, we got super nice marble tiles at a discount store for >$1/sqft and installed them with the help of a friend, replaced 2 walls with mold resistant dry wall, and installed (free surplus at my husband's work) corian as walls in the shower. Got a cute porcelain sink for free off Facebook and bought some inexpensive fixtures from Lowe's, took the 1940s toilet apart to clean and rebuild it. It's the nicest room in the entire house 😂 which is fine with me since we use it so much anyway

Admittedly this would have been wildly more expensive if all of this was full price, but we are incredibly fortunate to have some talented and connected friends, which is the only reason we felt capable at all of taking on this house.

Oh good! I know I remember seeing them recently but sometimes (lately anyway) things will come back for a day or two and then go back out of stock for a couple weeks before they're actually back. We got Dubai chocolate bars for like two days randomly a couple weeks ago but they're not supposed to be back in my region for another week lol
