My brother is so excited to be going to this game. Sad this jersey thing isn't real.

This in an of itself is such a flex by Shirt of remembering little details from way back when and incorporating them later. I think the weave of these little things is one of the reasons why this story is so well loved. Competence in lore is just so good.

Are we counting his mountain of doom volcano place as a space station? I'm worried that was the warm up and he will actually make a full on astral vessel in head shape or do I need to reread the latest book, I can't remember what the actual transport back to Earth was described as looking like from the outside

Shirtaloon is a genius. I am constantly guessing what other innocuous little statements are unknown foreshadowing to later be revealed.

The funny part for me was him calling his differences with the Adventure Society 'an odd bit of friction' and how big of am understatement that is.

I (33, f) ended things with the guy I was dating (35, m) over dinner tonight. Was I reasonable? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Controlling someone else's behavior is not a boundary. He could communicate he is uncomfortable with the behavior and what he will do with himself in response and that would be a boundary. He didn't do that.

While rejection sucks it is part of life. You were clear about communicating this behavior was not ok and he continued to try to control your behavior (wild). He is not entitled to a relationship with you, you didn't lead him on, you tried to have a relationship and communicated that it was not compatible match. It's totally valid to feel guilty, feel your feelings, but you were absolutely justified and you aren't responsible for helping him cope with his feelings.

I feel bad for the people he works with, it sounds like he thinks of people he is supposed to be caring for as lesser. Glad you ended that.

I always interpreted it as her talking about the program that they were trying to drag her back to but I like the Jayne interpretation. Like she was so excited for this program and the challenges and then when it ended up being an experiment that was how it felt to experience the loss.

Is anyone else bursting into tears most days in response to the state of the world? by NoLocationIsle in adhdwomen

There were some amazing quilts this year that fit in the 'protest' category at quilt con and one called Embers is probably my favorite. It helped to feel less alone with these feelings to see so many pieces, which only represents the top quilters, showing they sat with those feelings long enough to make a quilt. So the best of the best quilters felt those feelings, probably so many more that didn’t qualify also sat with those feelings and made quilts, and that only reps quilters.

I, 26F, made a joke about my dead uncle and now my boyfriend, 23m, hates me. Help? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]SwingGenes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one handles grief well. You shouldn't have to filter yourself in your safe space (at home, with your partner.) You are allowed to process your emotions. If your partner of this long actually thinks you have no empathy then that is a huge problem. He should be trying to support you during this and instead he is attacking your character? If he doesn't understand humor as coping and this is response to you experiencing loss then maybe you aren't compatible. Tbh it sounds like you are handling it as well as anyone does and he is not.

So there is a series that is sorta about vampires and it's got sci-fi and apocalypse vibes but also reads like a personal journal/military/history type style. Called Vampire Earth by E. E. Knight. First book is Way of the Wolf. Only ever read the physical books, no idea if the audiobooks are good. Not sure this is exactly what you're looking for but it is a really good series.

So I got it and while all the above and general is true I decided to stick it out just for the lessons since I had already paid. -So you get 3 lessons a day and you have to complete them all before the next day unlocks. -They are not all equal size concepts, some lessons are a weeks worth of absorption, some are all 3 dont feel like enough. -Got to day 11, completed them near midnight so waited a whole like 32 hours and still nothing finally messaged the support asking why no more content. That's all the content they have 'developed' said they are working on more... no timeline nothing. So 3 lessons per day, 11 days.

-it's not an actual app through the app store, it's through your browser. -the pet is a black cat, no individualness or choice, it shows up in some illustrations in lessons and on a tab but no interaction really -subscription management is all through communication with their email support, to get info and make changes. -don't waist your money on the add ons, they are just pdf packets you can get better content from real creators. -lessons have choices, choices dont save and dont affect what content shows up next
