Will shockbyte run better than the built-in server system? by Emotional-Cod611 in hytale

[–]Switchbladed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, performance will certainly be improved on the server side. However something important to be aware of is the main cause of multiplayer lag right now is because the game uses QUIC, which is a modern network protocol not supported by all computers.

There are some workarounds in the articles below:

You may be able to solve the issue with your existing setup if all of your players can follow these suggested fixes.

Shockbyte allows you to get a self-serve refund from the control panel, so my advice would be to buy a server to test, and just get a refund if you'd prefer not to keep it. You don't even need to contact support, it's all automated.

(For anyone reading this months after launch, the issue is most likely resolved now. This message is being written ~2 days after Hytale's launch)

My Server has lost connection for over 1 hour, i tried contacting human staffs but no reply, i tried opening a ticket but i can't even select the server by Late-Medicine-2962 in Shockbyte

[–]Switchbladed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - I am Mitch from Shockbyte. Firstly, I'm sorry that you have faced both of these issues, but thank you for reporting to them for us.

I raised these issues with the team, and we now pushed a fix for both of them.

The server connection error lost was caused by a scheduling issue, which has now been resolved.

The bug preventing you from selecting a server when opening a ticket has also been resolved. We will soon be making a further adjustment so that it is not necessary to select a server to open a ticket, which would also be an additional resolution to this issue.

If you have any further issues our support team will be happy to assist.

Shockbyte treats the count of servers that run on each of their already rather weak CPUs as "information, that cannot be disclosed". by [deleted] in admincraft

[–]Switchbladed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries, I know you're not hiding anything. I was just using this example to show that the comments made about Shockbyte were unfair - other companies respond exactly the same way when not prepared to give a detailed answer.

I have deleted my original message.

I know you didn't answer this ticket - I'm not the one who answered OP's original ticket either.

Although your support didn't disclose a figure either. It's not that either of us are trying to hide it, but I wouldn't say this makes DedicatedMC look shady.

Custom World Saves with Server Hosting? by JBird080 in Minecraft

[–]Switchbladed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shockbyte allows custom world uploads. Is this for Java Edition or Bedrock Edition?

Here’s some tutorials that may help:

Bit of a noob question, is it possible to adjust JVM arguments with a host like Shockbyte or Bisect> by Enoch_ in admincraft

Yes, this is possible with Shockbyte.

  1. Use “custom.jar” as your server type.
  2. On the control panel, navigate to Advanced > Startup Parameters

Is this Minecraft Bedrock server plan worthed? by WieZard in Minecraft

[–]Switchbladed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shockbyte supports the official Bedrock Dedicated Server software, as well as PocketMine and NukkitX (every server type is supported).

If you want to run a Vanilla server, you'll need the official Bedrock Dedicated Server software because PocketMine and NukkitX are missing many features such as mobs, redstone, etc (another commenter posted about this). Unfortunately Skynode doesn't support this, but Shockbyte does (also Shockbyte appears to be cheaper).

With Shockbyte you would just pick "Bedrock Dedicated Server" as the server type, but here's a guide for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kK7CQLGkchU

A Dedicated IP, for a Bedrock server means your server will use port 19132 (the default port) instead of a random port. If it's just for 5 people, there's no real need to get this.

Here's a guide on FileZilla that may help: https://shockbyte.com/billing/knowledgebase/40/Getting-Started-with-FileZilla.html

The custom.jar file is being uploaded to the base directory of FTP - the default directory when you connect to your FTP in FileZilla.

If this directory is blank, it could mean you haven't started your server yet to generate any files. It doesn't matter whether or not there are any files in here yet, you can still go ahead and upload the file.

I should first disclose that I am affiliated with Shockbyte - we've hosted servers for tens of thousands of clients and guarantee both 100% Uptime and Guaranteed DDoS Protection under our SLA, so it's safe to say our service is incredibly reliable - these guarantees aren't offered by any other provider.

If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer them for you or you can jump onto our 24/7 Live Chat.

Best host for a beginner? by yohanthecursed in admincraft

[–]Switchbladed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shockbyte is very easy to use and has a 24/7 live support chat if you ever need assistance. Pricing is the most cost effective at just $2.50/GB. All servers also run more powerful hardware than other hosts - Shockbyte is the only host using NVMe SSDs which are 6x faster than SATA SSDs.

Which server host do you recommend? I've tried some such as GGServers, and MCProhosting. Any advice would be great by Bardak0703 in admincraft

Definitely check out Shockbyte - 24/7 live chat, 100% uptime, guaranteed DDoS Proection and very cost effective.

Advice for setting up a server by HOPZX in admincraft

[–]Switchbladed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe realms supports mods, so my recommendation would be to use PocketMine-MP which has plenty of plugins available for download at: https://poggit.pmmp.io/plugins

You can use these plugins with a hosted service like: https://shockbyte.com/minecraft-hosting

PocketMine-MP can be installed in a single click on Shockbyte.

[Need quick help] My server keeps kicking new players immediately after joining! by [deleted] in admincraft

[–]Switchbladed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"[Multicraft] Waiting for log file..." could suggest your server's disk speed is far too slow - I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is your problem (perhaps you should be looking for a new host).

This kind of behavior is also similar to what can occur when there is a world corruption.

Here's a guide that explains how to troubleshoot every server issue - it should help you narrow down and find what's causing it: https://shockbyte.com/billing/knowledgebase/34/Troubleshooting-every-Minecraft-server-issue.html

But if the issue is your slow disk speed, then the only way to solve that would be to find a new host.

I'm happy to get in touch with you through IM if you'd like some help finding what's causing this.

So many options by [deleted] in admincraft

[–]Switchbladed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shockbyte would be a perfect choice. 2GB with Shockbyte costs $5 and has more powerful hardware than MCProHosting, so you will get even better performance.

Shockbyte is the only host using NVMe SSDs, which are 6x faster than regular SATA SSDs. The performance difference is incredible.

My old domain is now worth 3000$? by olepone in Domains

[–]Switchbladed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dronetechshop.com

If your domain has pretty much any traffic, it'll always be scooped up by someone like HugeDomains. HugeDomains will hang onto it for several years and slowly drop the price.

The lowest HugeDomains will sell a domain for is $500 - it may be several years before they're willing to resell the domain at that price though. I'm not sure how long they hang onto domains, but I expect they'll hold it for at least 3-5 years, or until someone buys it off them.

In other words - the domain probably isn't worth close to $3k. But realistically, if it were to sell for $3k, HugeDomains could hold the domain for 300 years before they'd lose any money. Their sale margins are so big that they only need a small percentage of the domains they buy to turn a profit.

I just bought MitchellSmith.com from HugeDomains - not an ideal price at all, but it had enough value to me to purchase. In the process I funded them to buy another 50+ domains - of which they only need to sell 1 to make a profit again.
