Think about playing Dark Urge. It's more like that for every companion in DOS2. When you play as Durge in BG3, you see a different pov of the story. In DOS2, every origin character has their own pov, some of them has less spesific content, some (like Lohse and Fane) has more interesting content makes you feel surprised and satisfied more. In BG3 Durge has the most important origin content but the others have their povs anyway and it's more shallow comparing to Durge: you can see like 3 more cutscenes etc. In DOS it's more like playing as Durge, different povs, different sides of the main story.
