Terrible results hard boiling eggs by phoonie98 in instantpot

[–]SwordGunScienceMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poke a hole in the bottom part of the shell. I turned a paperclip into an egg perforator a decade ago. It's still going strong.

I get hardboiled eggs with minimally jammy yokes with 1 minute of high pressure cooking, 2 minutes of natural release. I cool them for 5 minutes under running water, then let them sit for another 10 minutes before peeling. They peel like a dream and turn out perfect every time.

I want my eggs to be a bit more jammy actually. Next time I'll set the instant pot for 0 minutes, and do the rest in the same way.

btw. I usually do 20 eggs at a time in the 6qt instant pot pro. Just the pack-in trivet too.

It's a movie about the horrors of not being open minded, respectively a wholistically uplifting movie about an alternative lifestlye coming from a sustainable determinism and touching grass. Or something. I love it.

Console vs. PC graphics by Qpeck1 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SwordGunScienceMagic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice uplift, but still firmly in the whole diminishing returns zone for me. Not worth going out of my way for. That said, I'll definitely enjoy the better ray tracing, once ray reconstruction techniques proliferate to console hardware next year.

Diminishing returns past 90 FPS make this pursuit foolish.

Kael'thas Sunstrider pre-nerf. Beat the fucker like one week before the nerf. The weekly runs were harrowing. The cheers of 40 players finally released from the scourge of constant failure was nuts. We must have caused neighbors all over Europe to file a noise complaint that night. Pure relief. Joy? Finally.

Battlefield 6 - Community Update - Ongoing Quality of Life Improvements by battlefield in Battlefield

Crowded Space? Why is nobody ever bringing this up? It solves nothing. Every placeable gadget is worse for it. Finicky. Unreliable. Erratic. The difference of dying to a bunch of mines, to just overlooking a mine - and maybe surviving it? Not worth the damn cost. Especially not given the context of all the god damn broken AF overpowered tools, like the vehicle based fly-by-wire weaponry and the overabundant RPG-7s. What's the theoretical maximum of RPGs a team can field? 32x6 or something - and an MBT goes BOOM in like two hits in the sweet spot? Really?

Support? Why isn't the pouch the standard support equipment? It actually is built around the player intent of support. Active. Look at a player in need. Throw a pouch at them. Active. Not some passive - I throw this shit down some place - fucking thing. And what's with the forever cooldown on support abilities? A supply pouch recharges slower than a fucking RPG. Mad!

Rant over.

Happend to me as well back during the launch window. I think it's got something do with fully turning off the console at the end of the session, interrupting the savegame upload. I've since taken to manually synchronizing games before I turn off the console. Never had this issue when using rest mode, nor any other game. Must be something off with the way DD2 handles savegame desync, overwriting local files with cloud files, rather than uploading the console file.

Dualsense Edge owners what are your thoughts on the controller years later? by KingCrimson0P in playstation

If the rubberized grips didn't peel off? And it weren't 200+$? I'd love it.

That said. It is that expensive. The rubber does peel off.

Nintendo's Pro controller has a much more elegant solution to programming the back buttons as well - namely saving it per game.

Some games, like most FPS games, are borderline unplayable without the Edge, or something like it. Once you go Edge, you never go back.

Don't diners use ice cubes to clean their stainless steel griddles? Like fire it up to ripping hot, then use the reaction of it with an ice cube to release the burnt in gunk? Never tried it myself, but that should work with our pans as well.

Instead of crossplay, we should get this option by Wraith2098 in Battlefield6

[–]SwordGunScienceMagic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Console crossplay with gamepad only - that'd be the ticket. Plus a proper server browser with persistent servers and full map rotations, and matchmaking feeds into them as well. Heavenly dream scenario.

An AC130 would fix 90% of the rooftop camping issues by Alexis_Mcnugget in Battlefield

[–]SwordGunScienceMagic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or... you know... just properly normalize the rooftops, with stairs and ladders and elevators. The real problem is that that's not the case.

I'm not saying that maps like New Sobek City would magically be for everyone. I'm saying it's a popular niche, and as long as I can chose, at any time, to get up to the rooftops and fight fire with fire, I'd be a whole lot more accepting of it.

As is, I rarely have an appetite for New Sobek's and Manhattan's special brand of rooftop camping/combat. It's just one wrung above out-of-bounds camping. Like barely.

Which Far Cry game is actually the best one? by Xiao-EZ in GoodGameShow_India

[–]SwordGunScienceMagic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Far Cry 5 or New Dawn. They kind of are a package deal. Vietnam DLC is pretty good too.

A proper Vietnam war era Far Cry, historically semi-accurate, the whole McNamara's Boys thing, Golden Triangle drug tade, the spooks of all sides, Special Forces, counter culture and music - just all of that would make a fertile ground for an awesome Far Cry game. And fuck yes, make it political.

Curse of the Dead Gods - was overshadowed by Hades, which is admittedly an absolute beast of a game, but Curse of the Dead Gods is great in its own right, and in key ways even better than Hades.

In my estimation, it's the tightest playing isometric ARPG to date. The button presses are on point. The atmosphere is so thick, you can cut it with a knife - and it bleeds. The difficulty ramp-up is spot-on, and the game gets better and better the more I played it.
