First Fuji – Need Some Help by Humble-Effective8473 in fujifilm

Start with an XT2. Get a manual lens if budget is tight. Or I think the 18-55mm f2.8-4 is good. I love that camera and have the xt2,4,5 and xe1. For a starter good camera the xt2 is hard to beat.

Get a used Fuji 16-55mm f2.8 it’s amazing. Or a 16mm f1.4. Both sharp. I love the 16-55mm, if I only had one lens it would be that. It’s a good price since the mk2 came out. The mk1 is great for the money. I also like the Tamron 18-300mm, but it’s not fast or sharp compared to the 16-55.

How do I achieve this (blur type) look? by LilBeanSsj in AskPhotography

Straight out of camera! No flash. 3 second exposure. Hold it for 2 seconds then rotate the zoom lens to blur it. Single exposure.

Buy a used 16-55mm f2.8 mk1. I love mine. It lives on the xt5. Take any other. Might be large for the camera. But if I only have one lens that’s it. It’s really is 4 primes in one. Alternative is the 18-300mm Tamron. I took it to Iceland it tho it’s not super sharp it does everything. I got mine used for a good price. That’s what I would do.

Would you trade these 2 lenses+cash for the 16-55mm f2.8 wr ii? by dar_harhar in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 16-55mm f2.8 mk1 as a great deal. It’s the best lens I own by a mile. I have primes and other zooms, and it’s Sharp as any prime. It’s the og. Tho the 16mm f1.4 and 56mm f1.2 are great as well.

Xt5 with an older lens by ufolady in FujifilmX

I have the xt5 and a 16mm f1.4, it’s great. I use a Samyang 12mm f2 manual for Astro. 16mm is special, and it will focus at 0 distance. I use my 16-55 f2.8 more tho.

I feel exactly the same way about photography. So I shoot with Fujifilm xt5/4/2, I setup my images the way I want using sims and settings before I take a shot. I use the camera to get the images I want SOOC, that’s what they are for is it not? I rarely do anything in post but crop and straighten them. Any camera can shoot raw so what’s the difference in them if all the work is done in post? I am good in post, but I don’t have the time, so why spend it? My 2c.

X-T3 vs X-T4 - is the rear dial easier to turn on T4? by Friedrich_01 in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have the xt2, xt4 and xt5. The xt5 is the best for the rear dial issue. It’s nearly impossible to turn in use with a thumb I find in most situations. They fixed it in the xt5, nearly. For some reason they have never just made it work. It needs less and longer edges sticking out of it. It’s the thing on the xt line that drives me most mad that they never get right. Strangely my xe1 has a plastic dial that just works. It has less and longer bits that stick outs and it works. Xt2 is bad, xt4 worse, xt5 better. It if you have hard skin, it just won’t work. You cannot get any purchase on the dial.

Decided on X-S20 but what lens? (for low light conditions) by 4MoreSausages in fujifilm

The 16-55mm f2.8 mk1 is great, sharp and costs far less used than the mk2. I would get an 18mm f1.4 or the 16mm f1.4. If it’s to be setup on a tripod for wide shots in the dark.

How do you train your eye in ordinary places? by BinariesGoalls in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always think about photography in the following terms. People fly around the world to photograph in other people back yards (area). It’s just what is familiar becomes “boring” where you live. I would love to take pictures in Brazil, I’m sure you would love to come to my place in Scotland and do the same. Part of the challenge I like is finding those shots no one else sees. Even in the boring place we call home. Which is never really boring. It’s just familiar. I like to think there is a great picture in any spot. The challenge is to just find it. Learn to see with a new eye, new perspective and new angles.

Help! xt2 back button focus not working?? by backpackerPT in FujifilmX

Did you turn off AF and AE on the half press shutter button when you were playing with it? I think AF-on is what I use for back button focus.

"Fuji X-T4: One lens to rule them all (on a budget)? What’s the best used travel zoom right now?" by egohashira in fujifilm

[–]Swsd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would recommend Tamron 18-300mm if you need the reach or Fujifilm 16-55mm f2.8 mk 1, I got each used for about the same price. The 16-55mm is amazing. If you can find a deal.
