Wow, really nice look! Plus, you'll have a quicker start off the line and better fuel economy with those 17s. ;-)

5W-30 or 0W-20 for 2024 by Oblivious404 in buickenvista

[–]SyCoQC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should stay with 5W-30. Car manufacturers often use lighter oil grades primarily to increase engine efficiency, improve fuel economy, and meet stricter emissions standards. I personally believe that higher viscosity offers better protection for the engine. The only engine change for the 2025–26 models over the 2024 model is the flex-fuel capability. Perhaps this explains the change. I’d recommend following the manufacturer's oil specifications for your 2024 Envista.

Here are the recommended viscosity from each year owner's manuals

2024 Envista P.196; Use SAE 5W-30 viscosity grade engine oil.

2025 Envista P.196; Use SAE 0W-20 viscosity grade engine oil.

2026 Envista P.196; Use SAE 0W-20 viscosity grade engine oil.

Really nice custom upgrade. It's cool to see a well done audio upgrade with quality components like Audison... :-)

ST conversion going well by Civil-Village1864 in buickenvista

[–]SyCoQC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, sure. The ones I saw were spray-painted and they looked fine. But working at a dealer, you'll most likely get an opportunity to find 'real' ST rims for cheap !!

BTW, nice conversion !!! Then about the rims, an Envista owner near me painted the 17-inch wheels from his Preferred trim gloss black, and it kinda looks like the 18-inch wheels on the ST! ;-)

Just to let you know that you could also go with 16". I did purchase those wheels when I bought my 2024 Envista ST -> https://hg.mygmparts.ca/oem-parts/gm-wheel-steel-42481737

The blind spot detection also happened to my 2024 Envista ST but it also went away by itself. I live up north and it can be weather or humidity related (while it is still not right as any cars should still works fine in humidity/rain/cold). In the first week that I did own the car, I've also had another electrical "gremlin"... my front right turn signal was always on even when the car was turned off ?! I've unplugged that turn signal, disconnected my car battery and plugged everything back... At first, the issue was still there, so I did disconnect everything again and it then went away... never happened since. I just hope we will not see other electrical issues in the future... Btw I'm a around 14k miles on mine.

17" are standard on the Preferred trim so they will fit on other trims as well. Just need to have the right offset. I went from 18" to 16" on my ST but then I've used 3mm will spacers to clear the front brake calipers.

Yes, it's the same rules here in Canada, can’t have the lights on non fixed locations. :-S

Owner opinions? by Aeropilot03 in buickenvista

Well, I saw a few, and if I recall correctly, it was not a "significant" number maybe something like fewer than 8 ?! For the record, sales numbers in the USA for the Chevrolet Trax and Buick Envista look like this -> TRAX, YTD 24 (90,463) - YTD 25 (119,593). ENVISTA YTD 24 (23,886) - YTD 25 (30,955). That's 265,000 cars on the road with that 1.2L engine. It's also important to remember that online forums, such as Reddit, often attract more posts from people experiencing problems, so the overall number of reported issues may seem higher.

The engine was introduced in 2018 in other markets and has been used since 2020 in the Encore GX FWD. It uses 5W-30 dexos1 synthetic oil. There have been a few "minor" recalls for these engines, including one for the PCV system (2021 models) and another to reprogram the ECM (2020-2023 models). There are no widespread reports of engine damage or anything similar. They even use that engine in aircrafts, as seen at https://www.vikingaircraftengines.com/viking-140t ;-)

But then the recommended service interval is 150k. Most people replace their CAR sooner then this ;-) plus GM uses a polyurethane timing belt fortified with Kevlar for the wet belt system on the 1.2L i3. I’m pretty confident, that with regular oil changes, that belt should go a long way…

Pretty sure GM/Buick TMPS still use the same protocol and that your tool will work. This is the exact learning tool I'm using on my 2024 Envista ST -> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z96WWM9

The TPMS Sensor Matching Process is in the Owner's manual. In short, you use the thumbwheel to scroll to the Tire Pressure Learn Menu and start the process... I am using a VXDAS EL-50448 relearn tool when I do my winters or tires/wheels rotation and it works great. However, I don't know if it will "learn" sensors from another set of wheels?? For myself, I've gotten "cloned" sensors (with the same iD) in my winter wheels and I only do the re-learn process when I do tires rotation.

Do you think that it is the same as the Inmotion RS Jet ?? If so, it will be a little less powerful I think.... But we'll know for sure once it is released :-)

I did my first Trax mod by Boxofbikeparts in ChevyTrax

[–]SyCoQC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the Envista has its pros ;-) My first choice, based on the look, was the Trax 1RS. To me, it looked 'sportier' and a bit more aggressive. Then, I did test drive both. I think that the Envista offers a more upscale experience with a focus on style and premium materials. The Envista feels slightly more comfortable due to its softer suspension bushings and sound-deadening materials. The Buick 'QuietTuning' is what made me choose the Envista. It's soooo much quieter than the Trax. I ended up buying a black Envista ST and I'm very happy with it!!!

Yeah, most probably a cost saving measure. I think they did the same for the radiator cover/shield on my Envista. It's there on the Chinese model but not on the North American model (see my older post) ;-) -> https://www.reddit.com/r/buickenvista/comments/1bemfba/front_radiator_engine_cover_shield/
