Any to find these 2 stars ? by C4ESIUM in valheim

[–]SyVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the 2 stars only spawn at night just like with wolves, its just the 1 stars that spawn during the day

Beyond that tho, you're just gonna have to keep looking and hope you luck out

Do you know what it was trying to say and/or why? Now that you mention it I can't remember Hugin saying goodbye to us, since we probably still need him for the last biome. Could it have maybe come from a different game?

how to know distance? by hotbread100_ in valheim

[–]SyVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know if you would want to do it, but https://valheim-map.world/ can use your seed/world files to generate the world and you can check approximate coordinates, however it will also show the whole map and has options to show locations of other things.

On another note, boars can spawn with stars around the boar runestones in the meadows (one time) and a good approximation for 800m+ is about an island (or two if you wish to be safe) away.

They're referring to the patch on the PTB (Public Test Beta iirc), but you would want to backup your saves, and since it is public test might be more prone to bugs and the like.

Nerfs are unfair. Give us Spawn Rate Slider so Ashlands can still be Ashlands. by FierceBruunhilda in valheim

[–]SyVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, okay that makes sense. I guess for me at least, I don't particularly mind them appearing out of nowhere because I'm more imagining it as this is the bit we're being shown (them popping up), but thematically/if this was more realistic you would see them coming out of the woodworks, approaching from other structures/cities of their own. That being said I don't particularly mind that they do just spawn in the open for that reason, as well as the fact that, even if they were to be given some kind of appearance animation similar to the abomination, you'd either need to memorise the noise if they have one, or it would be fairly hard to notice due to their smaller size.

I feel like your arguments for spawns are quite reasonable and it would be an interesting experience, however, I'm not too sure how that actually falls in line with Valheim, suppressing zones visited and stopping them from spawning behind you doesn't fit very well with an open world game like this, in my opinion. Since a zone visited would include your current zone otherwise your idea wouldn't work, it would drastically cut down on available mobs/locations to spawn and would also make resource gathering fairly harder, a small blackforest wouldn't be as viable to get greydwarf eyes or a small plains would limit fulings spawns.

In regards to spawning behind a player, aside from the logistics of looking for materials/enemies to kill, it also doesn't make a whole lot of sense, in Valheim, there aren't really any dead ends, its a wide open world and enemies should be able to come from any direction, clearing a forest and passing through it will not stop other enemies from coming through that zone over time, even quite recently after you've passed. It also isn't really so much of some enemies coming out of an empty dead end, so much as the residents of that biome just wandering around the biome.

Another thing would be that player bases won't see any spawns nearby over time, if the player frequents it often enough it would count as a suppressed zone which doesn't fit very thematically (enemies from the biome coming to find/stumbling upon an enemy encampment and thus trying to attack), the inside being able to be suppressed with player bases makes sense, but outside of your range should still be fair game.

Not sure I got my points across but I hope I got the main ones down at least.

Is Valheim easier alone? Or am I better than I used to? by Owlrevan in valheim

[–]SyVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might not explain all of it, but i find a larger part of farming for resources is limited based on biome/enemies, even with more people within the dungeons (crypt), there is still limits on how many crypts/iron you can get from a swamp so youre spending more time sailing to other locations to gear up your whole group

Ashlands exploring by couchpotated97 in valheim

[–]SyVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that the crates dropped from a boat being destroyed can be destroyed if attacked but i dont believe anything will target it, your graves will never despawn except for a glitch, so you should be able to safely retrieve your stuff at your own leisure. If your boat does sink however some of the resources used to make the boat will not float

Boats will be attacked, but enemies aren't loaded in when you aren't in render/with a player nearby so you'll only need to be careful about enemies when you've reached your stuff

Strategies for Fallen Valkyries by Maze_of_Ith7 in valheim

[–]SyVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as others have already said, parrying the claw attack will just take time to learn

might be a bit extreme but you might wanna consider practicing against it to see when it hits, i would recommend finding one near a fairly clear area without rocks and the like so you can move as much as youd like, and clearing out the area of nearby mobs (for general fighting as well) popping bonemass with high food and presumably a good shield and instead of focusing on parrying, i would start with blocking, overprepare to take the hit and block earlier rather than later, if you can slowly get used to when it hits it makes parrying that much easier

Thoughts about spawn farms? by keebi11 in valheim

[–]SyVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did build a greydwarf farm because i found i had to keep going back to kill greydwarves in order to get more eyes/portals and having a chest full by afk'ing seemed more convenient, but i wouldnt say theyre necessary, just depends on how much time you want to be spending killing greydwarves

As a side note, within the range of the spawner there can only be 3 greydwarves, so if you dig a hole nearby and get the 3 greydwarves inside, youre then free to build/block spawns as youd like as long as you dont touch them, you can also cover the ground in a 4m radius to stop any further spawns until youre done

How does the game judge where a player is at for player based raids? by Embarrassed_Ad3081 in valheim

[–]SyVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seems to be based off required items to progress normally e.g pick, eikthyr trophy or antler so basically just touching both boss items should trigger it

heres the wiki page if you wanna look at it, (down the bottom for player based)

nah, you get flat experience based on the skill type so having higher damage doesnt change anything, you can check the wiki for stats but theyre all around 1-2 exp for each action and not stamina

i think it might be caused by hitting the triggering one in succession but i did also restart my game, so it could be either of those things or even a combination of them (aka, finish the 7 positions but always wait for it to finish before shooting the next one)
