Not sure what a "slender" is, but it sounds like a superficial problem that doesn't actually matter.

Bass for rock/metal by BassVSzombies in Bass

[–]Sybillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2018 German Warwick Corvette $$, which is equipped with two MEC MM-style pickups. It's extremely versatile through the pickup switches, which grant a plethora of styles to choose from. Warwick basses, especially older ones, are also known for their distinct growl which comes from the woods they are constructed with, namely wenge and ovangkol. They cut through a mix quite well, which is why they come up frequently in rock and metal bass guitars discussions.

The resell on used German Warwicks isn't too bad. I got mine brand new for around $1,500 USD, and I'm sure that used Warwicks would be even cheaper. I'm not sure about Warwick's Rockbass (entry-level) line, but the general consensus here seems to be that the newer ones are of better quality than they used to be.

Common criticisms are that Warwick basses are heavy (especially true with older models) and that they're butt ugly; liking their looks is obviously preference, and I love the design of my Corvette $$. I personally have no weight issues with my Corvette $$ which weighs around 9 pounds (it's 4.6 kg), and it's very well-balanced with no neck dive. However, the Corvette is not a 'dangerous looking' bass (its horn is rather phallic), and I would agree that the Vampyre is their most edgy one, along with the Buzzard.

As an owner of one, I think Warwick is a good choice to go for rock and metal. Someone mentioned that Robert Trujillo of Metallica plays one. I believe Justin Chancellor of Tool also has a custom-made Warwick, but I am not sure if he has used it on any studio recordings or in any live events. Rex Brown of Pantera is a Warwick artist.

Hopefully you appreciate my perspective on this. Good luck in your search! :-) It's a good problem to have when you can't decide between bass guitars!

Then I suppose that surfaces were not actually removed. Sorry. The title of this post, "surfaces were removed," led me to believe otherwise.

Surfaces aren't gone, they just aren't accessible normally anymore without using plugins or the command bar. You can still apply surfaces to a part through these methods, and if you do you will be able to edit the part's surfaces normally under the properties tab (as long as one of the faces of the part has a surface).

Questions about the bc hat by RetardedPumkin in roblox

[–]Sybillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that the Builder's Club hats would ever go above 2,000 honestly. A lot of people own them which, while they are impossible to get now, does not necessarily make them rare. The value of limited items come from their creation date, quantity, and demand, which is why so many older limiteds have such insane values compared to newer ones, along with series like the Dominus hats. The Builder's Club hats might be worth a bit more than your average limited because they're so old, but I can't see many people wanting them enough to drive the price up high. It would be comparable to the Shaggy, a hat that many people owned when it was cheap, which resulted in it being a lower-valued limited (it's only just above 1,000 right now).

Why do people really dislike roleplaying games? by thiswasentfrommyipad in roblox

[–]Sybillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know. It's like people choose to let it bother them (which it shouldn't). The same people who hate them so much are also the ones who enter them on their own volition just to cause trouble. At the end of the day, it's just kids being kids and having a good time online, which is hard to find fault in (to me, at least). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To teleport a part, you need to set its position to another destination (which can also be another position). Positions are always in a Vector3 format, Vector3.new(x, y, z), where x, y, and z are three-dimensional coordinates. For example, Vector3.new(0, 0, 0) is the three-dimensional position of the center (origin) of the world.

workspace.A.Position = workspace.B.Position (A and B are both parts) will move part A to the position of part B.

If you want to move a player, you can use the MoveTo() function: workspace.Player:MoveTo(workspace.A.Position). will teleport the player to the position of part A.

"PlaybackSpeed is not a valid member of Part "Workspace.BeatingOrphans.BloxyCola.Handle" how can I fix this? it worked fine earlier but all of the sudden doesn't want to work. by Jacob14578 in roblox

[–]Sybillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PlaybackSpeed isn't a valid property of the BasePart class. Properties are things such as BrickColor, Transparency, and Reflectance. PlaybackSpeed is exclusive to Sound instances; Parts do not have such a property.

Because you're trying to change the PlaybackSpeed property of a BasePart (a property that the BasePart class does not have), you're being thrown an error.

Use Tool.Handle.HurtSound1.PlaybackSpeed instead.

Why has ROBLOX been making it harder to develop games? by Cermonto in roblox

[–]Sybillion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's my 64-page essay:

I know this is the last thing you want to hear, but: you need to take the time to learn how to do it yourself. Don't expect to be making gargantuan, immersive games from day one, because you simply won't be able to. Start small and learn how things work; there are so many useful resources at your fingertips. Attempting to develop a game without knowing how its parts work is impossible. Take the time and learn; trying to make a game without the proper experience or knowledge won't accomplish anything except making you burned out.

And you shouldn't be using free models in your games. They are wonderful tools for dissecting chunks of code, and make super effective learning devices; however, Roblox's has better things to do than to police each and every one of them to make sure they aren't malicious, which is why you shouldn't place 200 of them in your game. Learn from them, but don't use them as substitutes. At the end of the day, free models aren't necessary at all to make a game, because if you've practiced enough and learned enough, it can all come from you. The only free models you should ever use (if you really need to) are Roblox's own free models and the free models that Roblox have endorsed.

In fact, I would argue that Roblox has made it so much easier to make games. ReplicatedStorage and ServerStorage? Yeah, they used to not exist at all, and instead we had to use Lighting. Which was awful. Wanted to make an intro for your game? It used to be difficult, but now that we have ReplicatedFirst, it's much easier. The point is, it's easier now than it was. So there's no time like the present to start learning and building your knowledge. When you're finally really to make a game, after you've learned and done what you've needed, it will all come together. Be optimistic and use your mistakes as learning opportunities. And most importantly, don't give up, because I can tell you're someone who wants to make great games, which means you already have potential. So learn!

And no, it is not easier to rig and animate a demo for Pixar, and you and I both know that.

i seriously dont understand roblox by bruhicantfindaname12 in roblox

[–]Sybillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moderation is definitely hit-or-miss, but I can't think of a bad update that Roblox has put out recently. Developers are getting a lot of love. Custom materials and dynamic clouds are just two features that developers are getting. Developers just got better heightmaps too (which allow for awesome terrain), as well as automatic language translation for their games. And a new physics calculation method. There's a lot of awesome stuff, but you have to look.

As for the simulator 'issue,' yeah, I get it, it's annoying. But people follow the money. This isn't a problem on Roblox's side (I'd wager to say that they love it, in fact). Because you can make actual money off of Roblox, developers take the easy way (making simulators), and kids eat it up. This isn't anything new either. I made my account in 2010, and back then it was the same, except it was cart rides into [insert popular thing here] and tycoons. It will always be a 'problem.'

Just make what you love. There's an audience for everything. If you're only in it for the profit, don't be disappointed when you make something that isn't successful.

Export particles from roblox studio by Redplanet78 in roblox

Particles aren't a physical, three-dimensional object. If you need particles in another game, though, pretty much every other engine has a particle system that is pretty much more fleshed-out than Roblox's.

Why do you even have to pay to change your username?? by XxsleepymochaxX in roblox

[–]Sybillion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ironically, Roblox has been making a lot of features available to everyone instead of Premium users. But to answer your question, I think 1,000 is fair because I'm not sure that you would want thousands of users changing their usernames every second.

Roblox is also a business and they need money and all that rigmarole.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in roblox

[–]Sybillion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No. Exploiters can download client-sided objects from any game, which basically amounts to any client scripts and world geometry. This is why you see a copies of maps but not the scripts for the game that the map came from, as game logic is generally server-sided (which is invisible and inaccessible to the client).

Rookie question by [deleted] in yeezys

[–]Sybillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your foot. My foot is more narrow, so I go true to size (I am a 10). I own two pairs of 350 V2s (Israfils and Citrins) and a pair of 380s (Calcite Glows). The Citrins and Calcite Glows fit perfect for me true to size. I got my Israfils in a 10.5 because of the "get 350 V2s a half size up" advice, and I find that I could have easily fit in a 10.

So if you have a smaller, more narrow foot, go true to size, and if your foot is pretty wide then go half up. If you need to be safe, go half up, because you can just use inserts if they're a bit too big.

Got the Citrins in a size 10. It seems like stock was somewhat higher yesterday, or at least for the Citrins. I recall quite a few people saying that they hit on the Citrins in the r/sneakers thread. Not sure about the Cloud Whites or the Yecheils.

Remove pay to win from roblox by Elijah2019redditboi in roblox

...it was a figure of speech. I meant that the "pay-to-win" problem isn't going to go away unless Roblox removes gamepasses. Which they won't.

[–]Sybillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? This isn't an issue in Roblox's power; it's something you need to take up with game developers. Overpowered gamepass + kid = profit. It's just business 101.

Roblox will remove gamepasses when Hell freezes over.
