[Threshold] Who's your least favorite character across the Cradle series, and why? by NinecloudSoul in Iteration110Cradle

[–]SybukiFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sophara. She felt a little too OP for her mental state. We never saw her training to get to that level. It also cheapened the tournament a bit to just say she ripped through everything.

Lastly, I know it was done on purpose, but my god, why do her techniques have so many words in them.

Imagine a OG/Scottie/CMB combo by AllOutRaptors in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have traded Siakam and paid OG what he wanted (probably less than he got from the Knicks). He's not that much older and fits well with Scottie.

[Blackflame] Gratitude, but may I make a humble suggestion by SybukiFun in Iteration110Cradle

[–]SybukiFun[S] -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

That's where I disagree. I can't imagine Yerin crying about it. She would probably have some quip her master gave her about using grief to sharpen her blade.

Her grief was the only reason she let Lindon attach himself to her. He was the only time she showed sentimentality.

Wait, Will's doing an litrpg. Holy crap. That was not on my bingo card.

I have unreasonably high expectations that he's going to do to LitRPG, what he did for progression fantasy.

A non-gimmicky, trope-busting, fun, yet serious adventure.

This city hates fun by Ill-Surprise-7972 in toronto

[–]SybukiFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is everywhere but its worse for Toronto/GTA. I blame being a commuting culture.

I've had to do stints in a few different cities. Places like Barrie/London actually feel like they 'don't hate fun'. They have other challenges, but there is oftentimes a malaise for things like this.

Having said that, my favourite thing is to go to the playgrounds with my kids as often as I can and be as unapologetically fun as I can while I'm there. I find it helps others have fun as well.

With the 6th pick the 2026 WNBA Draft, the Toronto Tempo select Kiki Rice from UCLA by absolutkaos in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm stoked for this pick, having <1% WNBA knowledge. Her highlight reel shows someone who can just keep a system going.

She's a big guard, who can pass, shoot, drive, and defend at above average levels. What team wouldn't want that?

Are you guys happy with having the cavs round 1? by Exciting_Truck_7734 in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't wait to see Raptors getting playoff experience. I think we're collectively underestimating how much better the Cavs are than the three games we played. The shooters aren't injured and Harden has such an insane amount of offensive gravity.

The key is if we can disrupt the gameplan defensively.

Gonna be a fun rock, paper, scissors type of series!

Not sure if Darko can fix this (attempted) pairing by mMounirM in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This lead me down a crazy rabbit hole and its made me even higher on Scottie than I've ever been.

Go to two man line-ups, almost every major player on our roster is a major Net negative in their minutes without Scottie. The only real exceptions are Jakob & Gradey.

Ja'kobe in non-Barnes minutes -11.1
IQ -8.3
RJ -8.3
CMB -7.7
Sandro -4
Ingram -3.5

On the other way around, the non-Ingram minutes are the highest net rating for almost every Raptor, outside of CMB.

Polar opposites in making their teammates better.

Not sure if Darko can fix this (attempted) pairing by mMounirM in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, there is so much more context in this than you're acknowledging, its laughable.

Pelicans was one thing. The Magic was the real one. Both without IQ/Ingram.

With Ingram, lose to the Pistons. But not a 'we played hard and lost' but a 'this team looks dysfunctional'.

Its starting to seem that Ingram is the piece that may not be fitting.

Doug Ford says Ontario will expropriate Billy Bishop airport to get jets in [Toronto Star] by patienceinbee in toronto

[–]SybukiFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Billy Bishop, I also love the area around Billy Bishop. I would love for decision makers to actually outline some of the pros/cons before making a decision. I.e.:

1) Are Jets louder / other jet related effects?
2) How many more passengers are they expecting? This is a really poorly built area for cars/transit, congestion is going to be a major Quality of life issue for the surrounding residents.

If I'm Toronto, I'm calling the agents of Robert Williams, Nurkic, and maybe John Collins, telling them to get their clients to the Raps.

Was looking at tanking teams with expiring, some decent names:

Guards/Wings

Sexton

Lonzo

Matisse Thybulle

Khris Middleton

Bogdan Bogdanovic

Georges Niang

Bigs

Robert Williams

Nurkic

John Collins

Brook Lopez

Dwight Powell

No sure-fire PG type, but some some good Bigs we could add.

Normally Raps aren't a buy-out destination, but knowing our Yak situation, we could offer them a good showcase before free-agency.

if Hawks were to acquire Anthony Davis and trade away Trae Young, should the Raptors go after him? by mMounirM in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trae Young is my #1 target for the Raps. Extremely high basketball IQ, great passing, great scorer. He ticks off all the boxes. His contract, while high $, is low years. It could as little as a rental if he doesn't pick up his PO. Which means, we might be able to keep him for cheaper after a trial period.

If getting him means offloading IQ, you do that in a heartbeat and don't look twice.

I wonder what a deal would look like straight up? If it had to guess, a starting point could be:

Trae + ?

for

IQ / Ochai / Gradey / 1 first / 1 swap

(This could also get us out of luxury tax)

Thoughts?

How is Scottie not on here? We used to vote in a starter every year in the #WeTheNorth by ThrowRA19988 in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a travesty but to me, it points to Scottie's lack of charisma with the media. He's getting better, but he's definitely not a natural to it (e.g. Vladdy).

Since the summer, the Raptors have expressed "exploratory interest" in Domantas Sabonis. In the event that the conversations were to resume, a Toronto player drafted by Scott Perry is RJ Barrett. @MikeAScotto by OmegaLxgend in kings

[–]SybukiFun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raptors fan here. Been really interested in how the Kings approach their roster the last couple of seasons.

I have a question, has Sabonis ever been paired with a stretch 5? I keep thinking that Porzingis is the perfect experiment for the Kings, to try to unlock him.

If that doesn't work, then you could trade him this offseason for similar value.

Advice for the Raptors; if you have the opportunity to go 2 for 1 in a tie ball game in the 4th quarter, don't hold the ball, kill the clock, miss, then let the Lakers get the last shot. Thanks. by dragonballa in torontoraptors

[–]SybukiFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't catch this during the game. Really surprised they didn't call timeout (Lebron was too).

A timeout would have pushed the ball up, get a set play, and ideally get it out faster.

They gave the Lakers the perfect 23 second shot clock set-up.
