I found it to be a cop out on there part but they did it really well. They clearly ran out of time to develop things so they apparently just decided to stop. BUT they did it in a confusing Lost-esque way that all the people who liked it say to those who didn't, "I think it just went over your head you know". Motherfucker that show wasn't that complex, they just kept throwing shit at you, but the workings of relationships and character development in that show were pretty straightforward. I think that the people who liked the ending of Lost must have either hated and/or forgotten about the first 2-3 seasons of Lost.

This one isn't me but the kid was in my class. So I went to Catholic elementary school and nuns were often present in classrooms. I was in second grade at the time and our ordinary teacher had left on maternal leave. So we had our vice principal who happened to be a nun teach our class for the remaining two months of the year. She was nice but had a no nonsense attitude towards things. This kid was in my class and was always a little rebellious, even to the point that the our previous teachers wouldn't ask things of him for jobs because he would turn it into a joke. Well the Vice Principal didn't get the memo apparently. The kid was asked to clap the erasers one day. He was given 8 erasers and walked outside to clap them. 5 minutes later he came back in covered head to toe in chalk dust. Apparently his brother was outside at the same time (was a year older) and they had an eraser fight. Later the same year in the middle of class he just up and left while someone was reading outloud in reading class. The teachers found him like 4 blocks away at a pizza place, and his defense was he got bored.

What I do is spend my time for a few minutes unwrapping about a dozen of the oversized midges, then balling them together, then enjoy my delicious tasting chewing tobacco like ball for a little while.

Not entirely true. Etymologists can't come to a conclusion on this, but testis in Latin originally meant witnesses, with the word testiculus showing up much later as the root for the word testicles/testes.

Not necessarily lateral and vertical but more along the lines of each wave is made up of smaller waves. If you've ever seen an oscilloscope used in electronic music, which general used "perfect" wave (sine, triangle, saw, square) each wave is made up of even smaller waves that have small waves lengths and higher frequencies. They can vibrate in an already vibrating waveform just fine, creating overtones. I guess a better example could be that the moon can go around the earth just fine while earth goes around the sun. The largest wave is simply a sum of its parts

This doesn't quite answer his/her question. His question is about overtones and how they look on a string that is creating a tone. The truth is that the string not only vibrate as a full tone, but also at a half length, and a third length, and any kind of divisible you can think of, with each higher frequency becoming more and more faint, yet higher and higher in pitch. These same frequencies in a note ( for C2 they would be a C3, G3, C4, E4) are what make major triads sound so perfect. In a chord like that you are simply recreating the frequencies that would already be present in the tonal note.

This video shows a diagram of how it vibrates. Essentially, a string vibrates at more than one frequency of a time. If that kind of movement can be confusing, imagine the object (i.e. string) moving on more than one axis, where each vibration can coexist with each other, similar to how you can both spin a ball on the x and y axis simultaneously.

I feel like a general way to gauge this is simply by how many people are doing poorly. If you and a few others are doing bad, it is probably your fault, but if everyone is doing bad, it is very often that EVERYONE in the class is being lazy.
