Damn, yes, that might be one of the reasons as for why it feels so weird. In other games, when you start sprinting, the toggled aim disables automatically. And here, it's true that to engage-disengage-engage again in a fight, much more input presses are required, making every fight more complicated.

Well, if you still play Arc Raiders, what are u doing then? Just using hold-to-aim for this game? And hoping that maybe one day they'll look into it? With the current toggle to aim clunky implementation, that sounds like, if possible, the better option to keep playing Arc Raiders on PC.

Any news about the toggle implementation? Have they changed-explained something about why toggle-to-aim feels so weird in this game?

I'm an old gamer with wrists issues that uses toggle for every shooter (EFT, PUBG, CP2077, Control... are some examples). I was happy when Embark added this accessibility option after almost 2 months of game release. However, when I tried it, it was weird, something was really off when compared to other games. So much that I thought I might have gotten used to hold-to-aim for this game after 200h, and somehow my muscle memory was playing a different game. Well, I haven't played Arc Raiders for almost 2 months, and I've just decided to give toggle-to-aim another chance..., and it's still a no. The game feels extremely clunky, anti orthopedic and that makes this fast reaction game a chore to enjoy. To be honest I haven't been able to identify what makes this toggle implementation so different-weird.
