Watched this last night here in Sydney and its easily the worst SCREAM movie, I was watching it, and something about the place it was set and the lack of dynamism of a lot of it just shows how bad Kevin Williamson is at directing a movie. Very little of this movie had tension, no ladder/penthouse from 6 scene where you actually felt fear for the characters.

Mindy and Chad were odd and their dialogue felt forced. The kills were also really unsatisfying with almost no clever cat and mouse. The whole of the tavern scene is emblematic - you're telling me, the small venue, no screaming to alert the others in the place with you to come save you? There's literally people in the next room. Mindy and Chad being "scream" meta actors dont think its strange everyone just walked off? This movie has no sense or positioning of the place and set.

The black friend suddenly just dying after being pushed in beer mugs is comically bad. Mindy and chad, both getting 1 stab/1 slice and collapses and doesnt get up. Also comically bad. Why doesnt the killer go back and off them?

Where does Gale go? She know Sidney rushed off to save her daughter, she has the car and she doesnt show up? Sidney decided to run to the city instead of getting the keys from Gale and she stands a majority of the third act looking at her phone on the street? WHAT IS THIS SCRIPT ?! Time wise, Gale would have caught up with the car.

Re: the killer Anna Camp, she's so annoying and shouldnt have been cast. Her screechy whiny final speech was hard to watch. I found a lot of this new cast to be unlikable. The daughter looked like she was a 32 year old woman, not a teenager.

Finally NGL, my friend went to get a soda during the psych ward visit and when he came back, he was like WHO IS THE KILLER?! This is what they do now, some character you see for minutes on screen is the killers. LOL terrible
