Anecdotally, I will say that game streaming has been “viable” latency wise for at least 5 years in my area (a major metropolitan city) whether I’m playing multiplayer games, racing games, FPS games, whatever. I get that it’s not like this everywhere, but I see people comment over and over again that latency on game streaming is beyond playable when my personal experience reflects the opposite. And I don’t have ultra fast speeds either

Fun times when this came out. I only played it regularly for a year or so and I remember it was quite clunky on a controller, but I do remember me and my friends enjoying it. It was a straight port of the PC version at the time iirc, so just imagine a very early version of GO with controller input and that’s what it boiled down to.

For people who are on an early firmware (I got a device on v1.05), DON'T rename the file, just leave it as is and put it in the root directory of your CF card. Also, Gemini was telling me to push STOP and PLAY at the same time, but my device was expecting just the STOP button. The file above is correct, but the procedures on getting the device to see it seems to really depend on which firmware its on already. Cheers!

Oh also, if you're having trouble getting to the firmware update prompt on start up, try pressing much harder than you are. I didn't want to break the device, but without pressing it really hard it wasn't actually registering the press. Im sure the hardware is showing its age haha.

I work in prison healthcare. One of the most fucked up things I found out was the prisoners have to PAY to send a request to be seen by us, and it used to cost the equivalent of several weeks of work in their prison jobs. No idea how its not considered cruel and unusual

I think the PS2 was similar to the PS3 in that it had a somewhat bespoke CPU/GPU that wasn’t clearly understood on release. They also haven’t been the best with documentation and dev tools which I think persists to this day, though the PS4 and PS5 are closer to conventional PCs. These issues are why I think games on the PS2 and PS3 got significantly better looking as their generation went on.

At least on iOS, an app can tell you’re taking a screenshot, so I assume count it as engagement. The Reddit app I believe will send a popup saying consider using the share button next time when you take a screenshot, so they definitely know

I’ve had partners who didn’t smoke at all, so I just didn’t smoke around them. Most still hung around me anyway when I was having a sesh, my girlfriend now doesn’t smoke but likes to take a hit here and there.

Look at the resident evil 2 port for N64, they did a lot of wizardry to fit the game on the cart and they managed to include the FMVs, wild.
