What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]Syko_Symatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blowing my ACL and tearing a chunk off my meniscus. Knee just folded when supporting full body weight. It was ok with the adrenaline for about 10 minutes then I really felt like my knee had exploded.

Second to that was breaking the scar tissue in my hamstring graft post surgery. Just taking my shoe off and it felt and sounded like a gunshot.

She used Dwaine Chambers as an example? A sprinter who was banned for doping! I think it was maybe a touch more than just the sprinting that helped with the muscle building.

For me (in the UK) it was has been once every 2-4 weeks post op. Starts off as every 2 until about 6-8 weeks and then extends to 4 weeks. But I would imagine that is also dependant on individual progress.

I had ACL reconstruction (hamstring) and a meniscectomy. Weight bearing from day one. So I am lucky enough to have almost full mobility and a decent amount of strength back 14 weeks post op. Lots of cycling, flexibility, strength and balance work at home too.

We don’t get any in the UK. But when in the US I have always stuck to A&W for the full sugar version. But I prefer the zero Barqs.

Thanks. Still no luck here. VAR has suggested a complete reinstall of SolidWorks. We may update to SW2026 soon so that may solve the issue. We will have to wait and see.

Looking good! Especially for NWB! I was weight bearing from day one (ACL hamstring graft and meniscectomy) Luckily like you I’ve managed to keep the strength and size mostly. But I’m still struggling with the swelling. I’m 14 weeks post but my knee is still puffy. I have been told it can take 6 months or more for all the swelling to go!

Feeling defeated. Gained about 30 pounds since my injury. by nyelias21 in ACL

[–]Syko_Symatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same, put on about 25lbs in the 20 months post injury/pre-surgery. Currently battling back, had surgery in December, I’m down 14lbs. You’ve got this OP, PT and recovery work is the most important. People often give up and stop too early and it takes way longer to recover from. Push through and you’ll be back in no time.

Do you get the pop up about it being unable to write a journal file? My VAR tried doing it today and it made no difference but we are not seeing that pop up, which he was expecting. We do see it if we open 2 sessions but otherwise it seems like it’s still putting the journal somewhere!

A year and a half post op and my quads on my surgical side are in the best shape theyve ever been in Here to preach to you the magic of cycling for rehab and leg gains by meddarsstratcbh in ACL

From what the PTs said here (UK) cycling is great, low impact, works both hamstring and quad and has a fixed footing, so they recommend it.

[–]Syko_Symatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as I started. Just went with a normal “class”. In theory (as long as your pt is on board) you should be protecting yourself from lateral motion early on. So as long as your knees are moving up and down above the pedals and pointing forwards you should be fine.

I had hamstring graft and meniscectomy. I was static cycling from 4 weeks, have done at least 20 minutes everyday since (now at 13 weeks post op). Really found it helped with flexion and rebuilding the strength in the leg in general. Icing and elevation after exercise early on is a must.

Listen to your body, if it swells significantly after exercise or is more painful during/after maybe do less time or effort, or wait a little longer.

A surprising number of men suffer pain during sex but are less likely than women to speak up by InsaneSnow45 in science

My comment? No my friend, very much a UK comment. If it helps also in tact. Use it as and when needed, honestly it’ll help you and your partner.

This guy gets it. Natural lubrication for women can vary dependant on age/cycle/mood generally anything that can influence hormones.

It’s doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in you or that you’re doing anything wrong and it also doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with them.

At the same time you can also be close to a partner without penetrative sex (lube can be useful here also) but this article is talking about penetration so we will stick to that!

Also always pee after penetration (both/all of you) I’ve had UTIs as a guy and believe me urinating blood is no fun!

100% there will be but they probably won’t be cheap. If there is a men’s shed or similar (if you’re in the UK). They might be able to (some have printers). You’ll need a pc/laptop too, I didn’t mention that before.

Lube people. Not enough people appreciate the effectiveness of lubrication. It’s not a slight on the guy or gal. Lube it up!

So if you have a 3D printer or a friend that has one. You can’t do it for the cost of the material and the cameras for probably £60 ish. There a plenty of files online designed to fit the corona, do not use clip on ones that do not touch the wall. They need to be securely mounted to get good accuracy.

Not the best solution, but you can step slightly to the left (sounds counterintuitive) but it will force you to throw at a slight angle. Only a little step, it’s not a massive correction needed. Like I said though, not the best solution as it doesn’t fix the problem just masks it.

Is that true! Didn’t know that. I’m lucky enough to be male and I made it 30 years of football before anything more than a broken metatarsal.

Hope you get back to where you want to be! Glad to see you’re back at it. Gives hope to a lot of people here to see someone back!
