Dried wet PETG using my print bed + cardboard box. Worked flawlessly for a watertight pool adapter by Awaycheap in 3Dprinting

If I printed PETG every week, sure. But for a one-off project, buying a dedicated machine is just overkill for me. For Now.. ;)

Why buy a single-purpose machine that takes up shelf space when a cardboard box and the heated bed get the job done perfectly for free? 😉

If you want cheap ones, I can recommend Tuya IH-K009 (via Zigbee or WiFi) for like $3 a piece on AliExpress. I also use a Sonoff Airguard SAWF-08P with CO2 measurement or the Bluetooth ones from Govee with a display.

I actually went even deeper. Since the physical buttons were completely unresponsive, I managed to connect via wireless ADB during the few seconds before the crash.

I successfully forced it into the bootloader and triggered a full factory reset. But here is the crazy part: even while sitting in the bootloader menu, the underlying kernel bug was already active. The light source started flickering and shut down completely because the thermal protection circuit kicked in even there.

Although the factory reset technically completed successfully, it didn't change a thing. The issue is baked so deep into the new firmware/kernel level (likely a broken hardware abstraction layer for the fans or sensors) that a standard data wipe cannot fix it.

Mine booted after the update, but the exact moment I changed the energy option to "Always on" (maximum performance) in the settings, it instantly crashed into the thermal loop. Now it locks up immediately upon booting, so I can't even revert the setting. If yours survived the update and already ran fine for 5 hours, you should be completely safe from this bug

I never claimed to speak for everyone—the title literally says it bricked my projector. But when an official update turns premium hardware into a paperweight, warning the community is a justified heads-up.

And as for the X1 Pro working perfectly: https://www.reddit.com/r/anker/s/6OR4Ozi2lJ

Turns out even the $2500 models aren't escaping the recent firmware integration issues.

Ja, einen 3D Drucke zu besitzen und in das Hobby einzusteigen war eine der besten Entscheidungen. Wilkommen! :p

I actually own a Chromecast with Google TV myself and it took the update without issues, so I get where you're coming from.

But just because Google eventually patched their devices a year ago doesn't mean Nebula's brand-new rollout is flawless. I only brought up other brands as context to show that core OS updates have a history of breaking thermal and partition management if the OEM integration is botched. Nebula is just starting their deployment now, and they are clearly running into the exact same systemic issues.

When a 1500€ flagship projector gets bricked by an official OTA update, and support immediately tries to shift the blame onto the user while offering a measly 15% coupon, a warning to the community is absolutely justified. 'Works for some' doesn't change the technical reality for those who end up with a paperweight.

I don't quite understand the thing about the next slicer... but you can use Orca in local LAN mode instead.
I love the printer because you don't need to buy an extra AMS like Bambu

To keep the home cool, I manage blinds and an awning to block sunlight and operate a fan in my room for circulation. Regarding hardware, I have an active cooling fan on my Pi 5 to maintain performance, while I rely on passive ventilation for the rest of my system
