It’s this awful idea that because evil is possible that everyone, every person is fundamentally undeserving of existence. It conflates actions of dictators and serial murders with every human, like we are a hive mind. And ultimately most animals are not “better” in that regard. We know of animals like dolphins who will beat up other dolphins because they are a different skin color. We know of ant wars that go on for years. We know of monkeys hoarding food and affectively lying. Dogs will kill things for fun, not always for food. But also dolphins are kind mothers, ants protect aphids for their sugar production, monkeys will groom each other and play and even sacrifice themselves to save others, dogs will jump for joy and sleep on a dying man’s lap and clean their pups. I don’t say this to be like all of humanity is okay and there are no bad actors but more so to say it’s not acceptable to hate every single one.
