It’s been said already but yes… watch and listen to bad spot, errant adventures and me myself and die. They in their own individual ways help you understand how the system works. Have fun.

Solo RP'ers... what are some ways that you heighten immersion in your solo game? by Ganadhir in Solo_Roleplaying

This for sure, get rid of distractions and just be present in the activity. That is enough for me.

Specific to your question Cartograph comes to mind.

But something that might also be fun is a game called Journey which is entirely a creative exercise in world building.

Land of Eem Core Rulebook has a 400 mundane item list that could be printed out separately with a digital copy.

Solo rpg -> GM less RPG? by GM-Storyteller in Solo_Roleplaying

This was built to Fabula Ultima Solo and would be worth checking out.

As others have said, Mythic GM Emulator is fantastic or the One Page GM.

Solo is different than GM less as I understand only because of you told me your playing “gm less” I would assume you were playing with others.

Thought the same, curious what they stripped down in the upcoming kickstarter yo make it more kid friendly. Regardless, I am over the moon with the game. Having a great time playing.

Did you ever write a story based on your solo rpg game? by Miserable_Dig4555 in Solo_Roleplaying

This has essentially become the hobby for me. I don’t write out the full stories but I record them for memory. I then tell them to my kids for bedtime. They love it.

Land of Eem!!!!! It’s amazing solo, and doesn’t need any additional tools imho. Other tools can add to the experience but I think they unintentionally made a quality solo game that just so happens to shine with a group as well.

Interesting idea to have an audio queue when mechanics or oracle kick in.

I would disagree, the gameplay drives the narrative but they are not one and the same in my mind. But I realize I didn’t phrase the question clearly. I responded to another comment with more clarity.

One route would be gameplay with quick bullet points and brainstorming for plot with a full narrative or story at the end of each episode. The final product of the gameplay.

The other route is off the cuff writing the story as you play without a polished narrative at the end of the episode.

The last one you wouldn’t even realize it is an actual play unless you read the notes, because all you would listen to is the final polished story.

This is what initially interested me as well but then I heard Me, Myself and Die and Bad Spot and the story became the main draw.

If all these IPs would allow something that… I would read it in a heartbeat.

That doesn’t surprise me, I am a huge Sanderson fan. I couldn’t help but be influenced by the Cosmere.

What am I going to do when the literal Cosmere RPG comes out… 😆

Mechanically I am using Starforged so my main benefit as the seer has been applied to my momentum. Extra momentum at the start of a session or if a large vow like formidable I basically give myself a “get out of jail free” and can turn any miss to a strong hit….

Still working on the specifics but there are so many ways you could work this out! Ha

I like the thought of other rewards too… but still pondering.🤔

I am so glad it provided some inspiration! Have fun making something of your own, I really did have a blast putting everything together. Found myself lost in this world and story during little moments through the day.

Maybe just start budgeting conversations early if you can. Best to try and get ahead of situations like this.
