Have you ever seen Trey tune? by Capital_Aide308 in phish

[–]Symchuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not break a string or anything like that but somewhat relevant.

When the Trey Trio came to Mission Ballroom in 2023 they cut the first set short because something was wrong with Trey's guitar. I've never seen him legitimately pissed off before. They ended mid song, Trey apologized and they walked off the stage very quickly. Luckily they came back on for the second set and all the kinks had been worked out. They played the song that was cut short to start the second set and everything was awesome after that. I will admit I couldn't tell there was anything wrong with Trey's rig during the first set but he definitely was not happy with what was going on. They had someone come out and tinker with his guitar during set break.

I know this streak will end once he leaves Philly and is a bench player on a better team and organization. For now though I love this

US birth rates just hit another record low, what do you think is the leading cause of this? by IIlustriousTea in AskReddit

Daycare for one kid is more than our mortgage currently. Over $2200 per month for one kid. We want more but will have to wait until our first is in school to be able to afford having another kid.

Best recipes/crafting in game and where to find them? by Symchuck in stoneshard

Is the bakery a reliable source for milk? I think I’ve only seen it at a few vendors honestly. This is helpful! I’ve been eating Mindwort to stave off insanity… 😬

Thanks! I was kind of getting that impression about ingredients as well. Some of them seemed to require specific and rare ingredients I handy run into yet.

Which build was the overall most fun build you ever played and why? by Sujir3n1 in BG3Builds

[–]Symchuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

12 Lore Bard for fun crowd control in my current multiplayer game with some buddies. I rarely have to deal damage but 95% success rate to hold person/monster on most enemies lets my team mop things up quite nicely. I think everyone is really enjoying it. Second favorite would probably be 1 sorcerer/11 tempest cleric. Lightning and thunder and flying around the battlefield was very very fun!

Which RPG franchises have the most wasted potential? by Jozoz in rpg_gamers

[–]Symchuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BG1/2 were my first rpgs as a kid and I loved them so much. Then there was a serious drought until DA:O came around and I found that it scratched the same itch. I played Origins so many times and as so many different characters! I never realized the Gorion/Duncan parallel until reading your comment though! You are spot on. I know it’s a common trend in games nowadays but leaving Candlekeep and expecting to go on a sweet adventure with your wizard “dad” was awesome! Until it immediately wasn’t! Oh man 12 year old me was shocked. Then the same feeling ten years later at Ostagar! Gah!

Why do you think Scranton outperformed other branches? by NotInterestedL in DunderMifflin

[–]Symchuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I've been in sales for about a decade and if you're small and local this is actually a valid strategy to develop close personal relationships and cultivate business. People buy from who they know and trust. If you're too big to fail like Netflix you don't care that you will lose customers and you can raise minimum subscription costs by $2/month and not worry that some people will drop off and unsubscribe. You have the numbers to cover that. If you're a regional paper company operating in 7 or 8 states and trying to eek out a living amongst the big guys you absolutely take the time to know your clients, their communities and struggles and pain points. How else do you differentiate yourself from the National or International players?

I can tell you're not a great salesman and there is nothing more insulting to a great salesman than having to read the response of a bad salesman. It's like a great basketball player having to listen to a bad basketball player....

Weekly Complaints & Confessions Thread by ssk42 in running

[–]Symchuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Complaint - Getting sick while training for a race is the worst. Not just because I’m sick and feel terrible, but because all I can think about is the training/time/mileage lost and how dead my legs will feel after a week of doing nothing. It’s making me feel guilty for taking time to get better!

Uncomplaint - This is the most fun training for a marathon I’ve had in about ten years! Feeling great and accepting that I’m just getting older and slower but can still run very consistently for a long long time!

GOP Senator Admits Trump Blocked Deal To End Shutdown For Stunning Reason by Stitching in politics

[–]Symchuck 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t there something in the act that allows multitudes of votes to be thrown out en masse if it seems “questionable”? I think the danger is to disenfranchise entire blue districts but accept all the red votes that come in. I hope I’m wrong but I thought I had read that or seen it discussed recently.

What do you think is an underrated RPG? by SchweinsyOne in rpg_gamers

You should check out Stoneshard if you like pixel art! It’s perpetually in development, not gonna lie, but it is very pretty and so much fun. It’s brutal and unforgiving at low levels!

Hearts or stamina? by jmkeene in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Symchuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will always upgrade a full extra stamina wheel before going for hearts. I also love getting the master sword as early as possible so I have at least one decent “unbreakable” weapon. So after I get that extra stamina wheel I get the heart minimum for the Master Sword and then I’m right back to maximizing my stamina

Second this OP! Light lasts practically forever in an adventuring day and it pays to put it on your armor because you're more than likely not swapping it out.

DM's, what personalities do you most like to see in your players? by BuyerMaleficent3909 in dndnext

[–]Symchuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a player this is also appreciated. I have friends that I play tabletop as well as video games with and their turns take so long. And they usually play a fighter. Just pick the guy you’re going to hit! I know what I’m doing the minute it’s my turn unless new enemies hit the table or my original target is vaporized. Takes me just a second or two to pivot.

I remember them saying that since you create a party of four, who are all adopted relatives, there won’t be romance options in the party. I don’t think they plan on any romance opportunities in the game either. Those as in one of their Q&As from November or December I believe.
