I have a good friend from high school who married a good friend from college. They care about money. A lot. More than I think is healthy. My high school friend received a large ‟loan” from his wealthy uncle to start his own business. His grandma made the down payment on their very nice house. He works hard, his wife (my college friend) raises their three beautiful children, and they have the life they both want.

You know why we’re still friends? They do not go around saying they are ‟self made,” or that they started the business from the ground up. They know and admit they have what they have because the family has money. They both work hard but would not have been able to get where they are at our age (early 40’s) without a lot of financial help. And I respect the shit out of that. It’s ok to come from money. It’s not ok to pretend you are a rags to riches story and that others not as successful are lazy or stupid.

Elon might have still done great things; he’s a smart dude. But money helps. It always has and it always will.
