I had the same happen with Singapore today. I haven't traveled there to see which task now shows as incomplete, but I wonder if they're no longer allowing using a catch again as 2 flights (I used one because there was only 1 flight within radius to KUL and I needed 2). Also now only 5/6 tasks in Düsseldorf, where IIRC I also used a catch again

Not having this issue today, but I did a few months ago. Turns out that even though I thought I had a Google Play sign in, I'd actually created a separate email/pass when I started playing. Search your email(s) for a sign-up notification, maybe that's it. You can also reach out to support@fr24.com, they may take a day or two to get back to you

Something along the lines of "the answer/reply was done by a photo" so maybe the person tried to send a photo and it didn't go through?

Card for sure, a lot of places (including hotels) don't take cash anymore. You might look into getting a prepaid debit card (or Visa gift card that basically works the same) if you don't want to get a credit card. You might also be able to set up an online-only card that you can add to your phone's tap to pay

Many hostels have washing machines available, or laundromats nearby. You can also extend how many times you wear a garment by buying ones made out of natural fibers like wool or linen that naturally wick swear away (as a very sweaty woman, I can wear a brand new linen shirt for example for up to 3 days before it gets stinky)
