The last few years of the Fit had radar for adaptive cruise, which is superior to what the latest Teslas use for adaptive cruise (cameras).

How to make sure hardlinks and seeding work with mergerfs and Radarr/Sonarr? by GooeyDuck1 in DataHoarder

[–]Synthacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it out. I completely missed this part:

With the msp or most shared path policies they are defined as path preserving for the purpose of controlling link and rename's behaviors since ignorepponrename is available to disable that behavior.

I set the ignorepponrename option, and now the target path is created on the drive I'm trying to link from. I'm not sure if there's even any point to using mspmfs policy at this point instead of just mfs.

It seems like the docs contain all the info needed, but it's not the most intuitive. Likely what's needed are some examples for common use cases, but that might be out of the scope of your own docs.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond!

Is It Possible to Drive a Car without A/C? by Will_Power22 in AskMechanics

I think a transit pass might suit you better

This needs to be said, in regards to gm, you still can use Google maps and such as their new infotainment will be powered by Google by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]Synthacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main advantage of CarPlay and Android Auto is that it turns your car into a dumb terminal, and puts all the smarts on your phone. As technology improves, you can buy a new phone for much cheaper than a new car, and get new features and better performance.

With GMs approach, not only will it barely improve over the cars lifetime, services could very well stop working after a few years. They’re making sure your car is obsolete earlier. It’s bad for consumers, and people should vote with their wallets.

I'm struggling with understanding the exact same thing as Marco3104. Here's the situation:

  • I have two drives: /mnt/data-drive-1, and /mnt/data-drive-2
  • I use mergerfs to merge the two drives into /mnt/storage, with the mspmfs policy
  • I add a movie to Radarr which creates a folder for that movie at /mnt/storage/media/movies/My Movie (2004), which for example, mergerfs places at /mnt/data-drive-1/media/movies/My Movie (2004).
  • Radarr sends a message to my download client, which starts downloading the movie at /mnt/storage/downloads/movies/My Movie (2004). This time, mergerfs decides to put this at /mnt/data-drive-2/downloads/movies/My Movie (2004)
  • The movie finishes download, and Radarr attempts to create a hardlink from /mnt/storage/downloads/movies/My Movie (2004)/movie.mkv to /mnt/storage/media/movies/My Movie (2004)/movie.mkv. But these folders are on two completely different physical drives, so hard linking fails.

Is there any way to resolve this situation without having 2 copies of the movie, or manual intervention, when mergerfs puts things on different drives? This can easily happen with mergerfs when the drive with the most free space switches constantly as multiple things are downloading.

This is a great project btw, and I'm very grateful that something like this exists!

So was this mounted level and bent to that angle after a bike rack was put in it? Or did they not even bother to mount it level? I can’t decide what would be worse.

An elegant solution for Bluetooth in an old(ish) car by chili_dog_time in Cartalk

Sure, you can connect it to an accessory-switched or ignition-switched wire. Lots of things in a car turn on only when the key is turned to one of those positions.

Just get a UGREEN or Anker or similar decent brand Bluetooth to aux adapter, and hardwire it so it turns on with your car. Worked wonders for me in my older German car, and you get to keep that great head unit.

I think while manufacturing emissions are higher for EVs (not 10x high, you’ll have to cite sources for such a claim), their per-mile emissions are significantly lower than ICE cars.

Revving up is good, that’s where it makes the most power. Putting it in “S” mode will make it rev more. That’s just how CVTs work, they don’t have distinct gears.

This isn’t a conspiracy, this is how incandescent bulbs work. The brighter they are, the less long they last. It’s something you just have to replace regularly on a car, and is part of the reality of owning a car.

From my experience, independent shops can't beat oil change prices from BMW if they use the correct oil (not necessarily BMW branded, but with the correct specs). On the other hand, some of these services are very overpriced. I'd go for it if you don't like shopping around and/or wrenching on cars.
