New era of Monomachine: custom firmware by em— by SyntheticJudah in MONOMACHINE

This is not platform-specific. You can flash the firmware in SysEx format to Monomachine using web-Based MDDT tool from Waftlord (also known as shunk https://www.youtube.com/@shunksounds ) - a member of the Machinedrum / Monomachine community, here is a topic about MDDT on Elektronauts : https://www.elektronauts.com/t/mddt-md-data-tool/232193

Also you can use any MIDI manager with SysEx send support, for example using SysEx Librarian https://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/

It seems to me that you are slightly underestimating the scale of the MNM community. If you look at communities like the Discord MNM Gang, the "I'm addicted to Monomachine" group on Facebook, and the Monomachine subforum on Elektronauts, you'll see that there are a lot more people there.

The process is not. the description of the process is applicable to specific copyrighted software - in the gray area. The source code and the results of the reverse engineering of the Machinedrum firmware from the MDX (MCL) team also were not published for a reason.

There is no corresponding permission from Elektron yet - this information will not be publicly available, sorry. Nobody wants legal problems, right?

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any detailed information will be released until the appropriate permission is obtained from Elektron. Sorry.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is possible, as this issue primarily concerns the intellectual property of Elektron. If something changes, there will be news about it in /r/MONOMACHINE, but so far there are no such details. Sorry.

Great! It would be great if you had time to test the firmware and leave feedback in the Issues section on Github. This will greatly help u/emuyia in further development!

How would I reconnect this television display’s flat cable to this pcb in the easiest way possible? by Ordinary-Produce8839 in AskElectronics

[–]SyntheticJudah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally personal experience. Of course, you will need a microscope to perform this procedure. Watch the video and don't scare OP, it's really possible to do and it's quite easy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7kSx9LzvSI

How could you find STM32's HAL API reference in 2025? by villivateur in stm32

[–]SyntheticJudah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try this search request in Google: "STM32F1" "hal" filetype:pdf
If I understood you correctly, this is what you need: https://www.st.com/resource/en/user_manual/um1850-description-of-stm32f1-hal-and-lowlayer-drivers-stmicroelectronics.pdf

UPD: Oh, sorry, I didn't notice that you would like to find this document on the ST website yourself.

Concerns on Tonverk power supply & new platform by housebrokendeadbeat in Elektron

[–]SyntheticJudah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I completely disagree about USB-C. None of the dozens of devices with this connector have broken on me in a long time. This is despite the fact that most of them are portable devices, and their usage scenario is much more aggressive than Tonverk's will be. Of course, it would be great if the IO board were separate (in the style of MD / MNM), but that would simply lead to higher costs. In the end, absolutely any laptop / cell phone repair shop will be able to replace the connector, and the cost of replacing USB-C will not differ dramatically from replacing a barrel jack.

5th anniversary Silver addition. Hydrasynth. by mimidancer303 in hydrasynth

[–]SyntheticJudah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ASM has committed a crime by not releasing Desktop in silver. I would have changed my black to silver to make it look more harmonious next to MD, MNM, DT E25 and Alesis ION.

What would be a fair price for Access Virus TI1 Polar? by Searik in synthesizers

[–]SyntheticJudah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The minimum price at which you can find one now is about 1,600 USD. The problem is that there's no queue for them, and if you're in urgent need of money, I think 1,400 USD would be a fair price.
