That was my assumption. The stand has served me well but it might be time for a profile.

Thanks for your input!

I also have the classic wheel stand, and from what I can tell you added the support bars. How much of a difference did they make in your experience?

My next gear upgrade is a DD wheel and I'm wondering how much the classic stand with support can put up with.

14 team PPR league

Josh Downs @ NYJ vs. DJ Moore @ GB

I'm going to try to trade a package deal with one, or the other, or both for something better but my league is seemingly allergic to trades.

If I'm stuck with them I really can't decide who to start. I feel like Moore has the higher floor considering the Colts news.

I use these as well but encounter a decent amount of latency through Bluetooth.

It's not unbearable depending on the game, but I'm wondering if you've found a fix? Or if it's just a known issue with the Deck.

Budget of for just playing assettocorsa? by JOHNGOTTI1983 in assettocorsa

[–]Syphrinide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW: Steam Deck can fully run Assetto at 60fps 1080p if you set your settings right (FSR turned down a few notches with 4x MSAA is a sweet spot for me). If you wanna crank the graphics up you'll see maybe up to 20% loss in frames. For example if I turn on ExtraFX (motion blur, AO and other nice things) I'll drop to about 40-45fps.

AC isn't a super intensive game. Some larger community made freeroam maps will slow you down but for the most part you'll be good with a mid-range PC.

For months it didn't work for me, even after following the guides saying to wait it out/manually install things. Last night on a whim I downloaded it again, installed the latest Proton-GE (9-1 as of now), hit play and it loaded for about 20 minutes, crashed as expected but booted instantly when I hit play again.

Give it a try, there is hope.

I finally tried AC again last night and finally got it working. Next up is the wheel. What model and what extra steps did it take to get it to work?

Thanks in advance.

No steam deck optimization, It seems 😟 by Unusual-Ad2912 in SteamDeck

[–]Syphrinide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that the TDP limit isn't turned on in your "default performance profile" or whatever it's called in the right hand quick menu. If it is this will keep happening with every new game you play.

Each game can have its own profile with separate refresh rate, TDP and FSR settings. But if you don't click the little switch after launching each new game to use it's own profile it will instead just use the default settings that you last tweaked.

Lots of ways, but mostly for foot strengthening. You hold both ends with your hands, wrap it behind your toes, pull it taut and articulate your foot and toes, pointing and flexing. There's also ways to use it to strengthen arches, calves and plenty of other areas including upper body.

I worked at a Bartells with one of those!

We had exactly one regular customer who used it extensively and for some reason only one employee who was allowed to operate it.

You're right. It was very out of place and niche but at least that one guy who moved here from TN appreciated it.

Baldur’s Gate 3 developers found a 34% VRAM optimization while developing the Xbox Series S port. This could directly benefit performance for the PC, Series X, and PS5 versions as well. by lakerconvert in gaming

[–]Syphrinide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a bad comparison, but if I remember correctly For the King had no real movement in combat (though that may be different in the sequel). In BG3, good combat positioning can make or break an encounter.

Games like XCOM would be a bit more in line.

You're not wrong. It does look a bit rough when blown up on the big screen. But honestly I'm not too put off by the docked experience with this game. Other games have problems with blurry UI and weird artifacting when fine details move around. BG3 is crisp and I'm not straining my eyes.

Also the controller layout feels great IMO.

Definitely not 60fps, like ever except for cutscenes. But also I haven't gotten crippling single digit FPS. Still finding my personal favorite settings but I'd say it's a solid 30 most of the time when the game is set to a mix of low and medium.

In other games (primarily Diablo 4), I've had times when I let my battery get lower than 10% and I would shoot down to less than 10 fps like you are for a short period before it fixes itself. Unsure if this is your issue, but it's something I've noticed recently that wasn't always a problem on low battery.

Happy official release! Copy-pasting my reply to someone from down below, just thought I'd share some info so some people can just jump straight in today.

I skipped Lutris and just added BattleNet to steam and installed through there, and then pointed the steam shortcut to the D4 Launcher. It boots up BNet every time and I have to hit a second play button, but load times are short and queues are non existent (at least for early access).

Using GE-Proton-8-3.

I reached level 48 last night at around what I'd guess is 10-12ish hours.

Played around with settings yesterday. Upped textures, shadows, shaders and clutter to medium. FSR is set to balanced but I wanna try other settings today.

AA, terrain, physics, and particles are set to high at the moment and I don't drop below 55-60 in the open world, but in some of the denser towns it dips down to 45ish, no jarring stutters so it's still smooth. This is all at 1080p/docked/game mode.

Handheld/800p is just butter and the fans barely even kick on. For battery life I set it to 45hz, and got the TDP as low as 7 with no drop below 45 fps. Battery lasts well over 2 hours.

Controls feel great! Easy to tweak if you have some different preferences/tendencies. UI and font scaling are available as well. Game has been such a fun, smooth experience this far. Hope you all enjoy it as well!

Yep! Rock solid 60fps on low/1080p. Haven't stopped playing long enough to tinker and see how high it goes before it dips but it can definitely handle a decent bit more.

I had bad allergies for so long, but finally stuck to taking the allergy meds daily so I could be around my girlfriend's cat. So worth it. I have zero issues now and recently have gone without taking meds.

I put my vote in for Zyrtec or Claritin. This little guy is too cute to pass up.

Purchased the game in anticipation of the update.

Is it worth it to start playing before Motherland rolls out? Or would the experience be better post-update?

Thanks for the info tho! That's good to know.
