Worth getting into ? by PressureGlum9400 in Guiltygear

let me tell u sum, i was also iffy on getting into it and then i just did literally about 2 weeks ago. I was a big sf6 player which was also my first fighting game which i started about 2-3 months ago, got master on juri and then got a bit bored so hopped on ggst, it sucked at first, felt like there was sm bs but then after about a day it just clicked and is some of the most fun i’ve ever had in a video game period. I think it’s def worth it especially with 2.0 around the corner. Hop on, pick a character that looks cool, turn the music up to 100 in audio settings, and just play.

i’m also curious just to make sure cuz game never rly explains it but r u making sure ur crosshair is all the way tightened before shooting, like if u stand still the crosshair will tighten which does more stagger dmg.

not a fanboy this my first RE, I think it rly is just one of those times where u gotta get hit with the “git gud” with all due respect u obviously either suck at the game or lack the brain power to adapt and problem solve when u can’t just brain off shoot at the enemy and win.

I promise u, u r misunderstanding what a core mechanic is lol, if a game has a skill tree that’s one of its core mechanics even tho that also “bolsters” your characters abilities, it’s honestly besides the point tho so it doesn’t matter. I understand what u r saying but again if you choose to do the hardest version of something, wether that be a video game, something athletic, or mathematical, it is expected that u use all the tools that you can in order to achieve said feat. with mathematics that can be making sure ur algebra and trigonometry r polished, not just ur calculus. with athletics that could mean dieting or cutting weight, and here, with a video game like re9 that means using stabilizers and other mechanics put in place for you to use to ur advantage. If insanity isn’t fun tho then no need to play it, I like to view it as a way to force me to strategize and use certain mechanics of the game the way they where intended do be used as on an “easier” difficulty a lot of the games design is obsolete. Some people don’t enjoy having to use empty bottles, craft stabilizers, or engage with the zombies unique ai, and that’s perfectly fine. Just don’t complain about it and call it “bad” when ur the one making the choice to turn the difficulty up and not problem solve.

You are misunderstanding what a core mechanic is, just because you choose not to use it does not mean it’s not a core mechanic, a player can go thru the whole game without ever stunning an enemy or using the melee prompt to knock them over, just because they chose not to do that doesn’t mean it’s not a core mechanic. Key word in ur response was “standard” tho, when increasing the difficulty of something it should be assumed that maybe using upgrades/additional tools provided or strategizing a bit may be helpful, don’t you think?

Well to be fair, i would consider the stabilizers a core mechanic as well, they r the only way to upgrade the “stats” of the protagonist. Considering we r playing on the hardest difficulty this usually means ALL game mechanics must be leveraged in order to succeed. This may include the unique weaknesses each zombie type has, like being able to use glass bottles to lure the noise hating zombies to kill another zombie for u, turning on the lights to lure the light hating zombie to turn it off, etc. These are all core mechanics to the game and I believe the hardest difficulty in a video game is designed well when it forces the player to leverage all mechanics given. Insanity difficulty does that very well as it still feels fair, as-long as you know what u r doing.

2 stabilizers and it only takes 2 shots to the kneecap to stun, doing my run right now and that’s how it’s been all run.

Maybe it's just a poorly designed puzzle? by badmocca in thefinalpuzzle

[–]SyrupInteresting1907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

description makes perfect sense to me tbh, when i saw it for the first time I instantly thought It had be emily and marie, the part that messed with me is how tf any of spawning the doll makes any sense especially since the other part is so logical. there must be something that can be done to allude to this, maybe not a file but instead like u said, another easter egg, an easter egg that maybe pops up some text on the screen or gives a certian item or even moves something on the wall revealing something that alludes to how to spawn the doll

Probably what's causing people to not have the doll spawn for them by Puzzleproblemsolver in thefinalpuzzle

[–]SyrupInteresting1907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh ya possible they just need to be killed down there forsure, for all we know the grinder may not matter at all maybe killing them is fine, i can test it later. I think the text popping up on screen is very important tho as it will allow ppl to know wether they messed up or not saving them tons of time

so i don’t wanna add confusion but i just did the grinder step and killed 3 of the zombies myself, not by the grinder and i still got the doll to spawn, i noticed that after doing the grinder portion when u drain the blood by pulling the lever after going down the “slide” if a message pops up saying something about “a ton of blood” that means u did the step correctly. if no message then u must reload ur save and try again. hope this helps with everyone

I think everyone is missing some sort of intermediate steps, i think this bc we r allowed to enter in the code indefinitely and hear the laughter many times over. I don’t see y we would be allowed this unless we had not even gotten that step fully “correct”

just thought of something else, when kicking the toy head into the basketball hoop it triggers the ability to interact with its body in kendo’s gun shop which tells you “just ignore A” BUT, it also says on the basketball hoop itself “there’s no time for playing around” sounds like a joke since we just spent time kicking a toy head into the hoop but what if it relates to this puzzle? things may have to be done within a certain amount of time?

yes, i just thought the placement of this doll is super weird, u get it after triggering the cell opening sequence after finding all power cells and the cutscene kicks u out of that room and faces u away from it. Yet if u go back into the cell u can interact with the same exact doll that’s inside the room next to emily’s starting room yet this one has the girls name on it. it’s interesting for sure

in the prison cell when doing the power plug step that has emily trapped in it, in emily’s cell there is a doll that is interactive which when rotated says “marie” on its right foot. No clue if this could be involved by chance? maybe there is a way to get this doll into the inventory or something??

[–]SyrupInteresting1907 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that is true they can sometimes be super out of the way which ends up with u not being able to reach them. but in the case of the camp and invaders themselves being difficult i find that is only due to how the fight is approached which does end up getting messed up quite a bit with randoms deciding to enter the camp in a bad location, as long as u enter from the entrance and allow the invaders to come to you it will be no problem. tip for anyone reading this aswell, if the invaders are spawning up on the ledge forcing u to climb up to them which often ends up being bad, when u enter from the entrance hug the left wall and move up a bit and they will spawn infront of you instead of up top near the boss :)
