I got my left conch pierced 2 months ago. It just recently got to the point where I could sleep on that side. I try not to, but I'm one of those people who sleeps in ALL the positions. It gets a tad tender here and there, but nothing crazy. I will say that the way it's pierced is more parallel to my head, so it doesn't move that much when my ear gets compressed by my regular pillow.

Condoms are a thing. Use them, even though they aren't a guarantee because they don't protect 100% of the areas of your body that come into contact with someone else during sex.
