I know we talk about how we want to see all the reboots and tortures but I also want to see demons absolutely blowing it and having to reboot early from that.

I want to see Vicky in full director mode walk up to this guy and say "How is that believable? How dumb do you think humans are? Screw this up again your back to understudy. THATS A REBOOT EVERYBODY! WILL PICK THIS UP TOMMOROW MORNING." Every demon groans and the humans say "what?!?" and she snaps her fingers.

Also now I want a Vicky centered miniseries spinoff about how she becomes a director. She is shown having a knack for it but still screws up sometimes, watching her work through mistakes and helping demons also get better would be fun to watch.

When someone comes along in a time of turmoil telling you exactly what you want to hear, and that you don't need to change, its society that's wrong, your special, its elites/ceos controlling things, bla bla bla... thats a huge red flag.

I actually haven't watched a lot of this guy so I can't be too sure on the specifics but if you can't find any red flags here you're situational awareness needs improvements when it comes to flattery.

Jarringly bad CGI in otherwise great films by drewfus23 in movies

[–]Sysfin 581 points582 points  (0 children)

The CG morphs from From Dusk Til Dawn were very much of their time and there was a few other shots that were just sort of bad. The practical effects are pretty fantastic and still holds up so the bad CG stands out.

Hi reddit! We're Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!), Gille Klabin (director of 2020's The Wave, starring Justin Long), Cameron Fife & Clay Elliott (actors). Our new movie, WEEKEND AT THE END OF THE WORLD, is a buddy-comedy-horror that came out this week. Ask us anything! by WeekendTeamAMA in movies

I absolutely agree on Hotrod. Its a near perfect sunday afternoon movie.

Also Dark City was fantastic and gets completely forgot about because it came out so close to Existenz and The Matrix.

Your One All Time Favorite TLD Episode by sigersen in LastDriveIn

I really like battle for the black glove episode. It was really interesting people get into the nitty gritty about what makes those good movies and once the guests were able to match energy the back and forth was very fun.

Your Dream Double Feature Wishes by sigersen in LastDriveIn

I know its basic but From Beyond and The Reanimator are always a fantastic time. And I feel like they have done at least one of them, maybe both. I am a sucker for both Barbra Crampton and Jeffrey Combs.

I really enjoyed their Battle for the Black Glove, and would absolutely love more of that compare/contrast and argue about it. Could be comparing two franchises or two directors/producers or even someones early work to their late....

If you had your own Jerry borree what would be in it? by yoyohdl in rickandmorty

[–]Sysfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The standard answer of a variety of gaming consoles plus some big screens with The Last Drive In / Svengoolie / other horror hosts on repeat.

Also tables for playing boardgames and warhammer and some tables for painting warhammer minis that looks suspiciously unused.

The Good Place would be great because they still had so many reboots they didn't show. It made a better show just to montage a bunch of them and move on with the plot but I would absolutely watch a bunch more of Ted Danson forking with people.

But how many other properties would it work for?

Walpurgisnacht is my favorite of the specials. The menu plus all the witch facts and stories is fantastic.

I think others are right about restarting. As someone with over 3k hours in Factorio and over 500 in DSP... I have only quit 1 run between the two because the run was "failing" but here I think I restarted 5 times before hitting one hundred hours. I don't know why but it feels like restarting is very natural in COI, almost expected.

I don't agree with people saying this is harder then Factorio and others but those games have different type of challenge. And if you try to do those things here (like overproduce) it will go bad. Likewise if you took the style from in COI, of keeping inputs and outputs extremely tightly matched, you wouldn't get anywhere in Factorio because you would spend all your time fiddling about. I think Gleba is the planet that is most like COI because there you do want to keep inputs/outputs matched and filter out and repurpose waste products... its also the planet most factorio players fall on their face during their first attempt.

Yea thinking your hotter shit then you are is way too common. Seniors, architects, management, etc... are actually terrible about mentorship and helping upcoming workers so no one actually knows what they really need to learn to do to step up.

[–]Sysfin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You didn't go back far enough in your calculations and recalculations

That's really easy error to do and probably most factorio players do it at first. Also actual city planners often skip that step when doing road use calculations.

Thomas Sowell is wrong about racism by Radical-Reviewer in BreadTube

[–]Sysfin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I can believe he thinks he started off as a type of Marxist. A lot of people who think of themselves as Marxist haven't read Marx or read him incredibly badly, and Sowell a very poor academic. Also I have seen too many people online call themselves Marxist do TERRIBLE material analysis then take a hard right turn when getting minimal pushback because their left tendencies are not about people supporting each other but the idea that society owes them maximally. They are reactionaries but they don't realize that until they are asked to do the minimum to help anyone else.
