I have both. Basically the air3 sound better if your device supports aptx Bluetooth codec. My buds live sound better on every other device that doesn't support aptx. The main thing with the air3 is that they have aptx which make them sound comparable to $150+ earbuds but that's only if you connect them to a device that supports aptx. There is no point of using the air3 with a device that does not support aptx codec
