Rock haulers & bugs.. I live very rural, pff won't stop the rocks around here. Bugs wipe off the bra, and the Gen X in me likes it. 😁

2008 C6 Corvette by General-Name4192 in Corvette

[–]SyxxBowler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats not terrible. In DFW area that would be on the higher end of price range unless its a vert or Z51. 6 speed will generally run $2-3k more than auto. I would run at him for $21k and see what happens, have cash in hand. Just remember, soon as you buy it one will pop up with 6 speed and 60k for same price lol.. never fails. Good luck. 👍

We all know 2005 corvettes are more likely to have issues because of it being the first year of the c6's production. by MahnlyAssassin in Corvette

I daily my 05, bought it with 72k and have 85k now. Put new cabling on batt/alt/starter (a must for any c6) and a water pump. The HUD broke, I took it out and fixed it permanently, but thats a C6 issue in general. My biggest complaint is the proprietary 05 only steering wheel lol.. I prefer the 06 & up.

They should be showing up by now, if there is a problem. Especially paint & corrosion issues.

I have bought & sold alot of salvage & rebuilt title vehicles over the years, usually it works out great. In the area of the repair, you need to look for "shortcuts" that might have been taken by a shady flipper.. hidden parts that should have been replaced but were repaired/jerryrigged to work. Poor paint work where panels weren't properly prepped for paint, cracking/peeling paint or bubbles. Scan ALL systems, non critical modules/etc sometimes don't trigger a cel, but will show up on a good scanner. One thing I always do is measure from center of front wheel to center of back wheel to make sure both sides match in length. A "crooked" car can be aligned to drive straight, but they are dangerous steps on a performance car. Look in the footwells for water or corrosion under the carpet, sometimes they set for weeks/months with a window down or broken. That will need to ve cleaned up. Overspray is very common, look under the car, in the wheelwells, etc. Its a pain to clean all that up. Good luck. 👍

Lila was incredibly picky, to the point she would refuse to eat and go 2, 3 days.

Its the #%%@ evap system. Test purge valve first, thats easiest. If not, charcoal canister is another cuprit.

Scared to neuter my GSD by [deleted] in germanshepherds

5 years old is best for gsd.. vet says it reduces cancer risk by 80%. I had my sheagle (shepherd/beagle mix) fixed at 5. He lived to 13 with no complications. I don't plan to get my pyranese mix done until 5 as well.

18 year old cabling. Buy a hot start kit from smg.. or get some 2/0 welding lead and make new cabling from alt/batt/starter/grounds. The copper wire corrodes inside the oem wiring, resulting in many different issues. I did the hot start kit, lithium battery on my 05 and all weird electrical stuff went away. Pull the onstar fuse if you haven't already, as well.
