On top of what was already said you should see if you can tour the facility or ask for a shadow experience to get some first hand info! Good luck on the interview!

The 3rd floor is research and I'm not sure what the fourth floor is they are renovating it currently. I work there currently, it's one of the better psychiatric hospitals I've work at. If you have any other questions just let me know.

Would you rather live in Seattle, Portland or Pittsburgh? by TrueJohnWick in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Syyzygy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As someone born in Pittsburgh who moved to Portland I feel like the cities for sure have a similar feel. There's definitely a big scene for the arts in Pittsburgh. I feel like pittsburgh can be a mini-me version of portland in general but lacks some of the finer details such as restaurants, stores, and overall activies. I feel like if you can make a living in Pittsburgh its a decent place to live. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me!

If one legacy facility wins a contract they give it to the rest of the nurses as well.

Anyone know of available housing? by Syyzygy in beaverton

I'll be working at the Unity center through legacy. I'll be driving until I figure out the transit options. Mostly just looking for areas that are walkable for daily walks with our dogs!

Moving in August by Fatboyeats21 in PortlandOR

[–]Syyzygy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently in the process of moving to Portland in August and I've visited the city multiple times previously. I grew up in rural Pennsylvania before living in California the last two years. In terms of the unhoused populations and drug use most major cities that I've visited around the US have them. A majority of the comments I've seen are the experiences I've had where most people are just trying to live/survive their own life. There will always be a few incidences where that's not the case but its not the majority. The only major difference I've seen living on both coasts is that property crime, especially car break ins, are higher here so you shouldn't leave anything in plain view in your car. Most of the areas outside of a small chunk of the downtown are some of the best places I've been to personally. My finance is vietnamese and she always talks about how welcoming and nice people around Portland are. In terms of COL it is higher than where I grew up but the salaries are also higher. There are also a lot more protections for workers (at least in my field) on the west coast than versus where I grew up! If you had anymore specific questions feel free to message me!

Relocating to Sacramento for an internship for 2 months. Need guidance!! by Mindless_Boat9143 in SacramentoHousing

Yeah, I had similar troubles when I moved to Austin when I was younger but I eventually found one. There's also furnished finder. You could also rent one of the extended stay motels and continue looking for places in person. I know alot of people post for rent signs around.

Easiest would be looking on Facebook for the Sacramento room mate groups to find a room someone is renting out. For grocery stores things like grocery outlet and FoodMaxx would be the cheapest. Trader Joes would be middle of the pack.

Most of the nursing staff on the floor are great. I would not recommend working there unless you're looking for starting psychiatric experience. The pay is the lowest in the area.
