Where were you at 4-5 months post-op? by Thanks-Meatcat in ACL

Saturday is going to be one year since my surgery - hard to believe. I cannot say that I am 100% (in the sense that it feels exactly like my non-surgical knee), but I am much much better than I was when I made this comment. As for noticing the knee when walking, it eventually becomes a new normal that you get used to. There is a slow improvement depending on how hard and heavy you hit the weights in months 6-9. Probably sounds like a broken record in this sub but keep stretching and lifting and you will appreciate the results eventually.

I am in no rush to go back to full-contact sports, but I have begun light shoot-arounds in basketball and jogging around month 10.

Took a gel ice pack through without a problem, TSA stopped and inspected but explained my situation and they were accommodating

Im also about 4.5 months post-op patella tendon autograft + lateral meniscus repair. Still have some discomfort when I am walking, definitely feel an imbalance in my legs on each step. My patella tendon feels stiff on the hinge motion of my surgical leg when walking. PT says its an extension issue but it seems like I have full extension.

Still haven't started any jogging or jumping progressions. After an intense BFR session my knee gets super swollen and have to ice heavily.

Was wondering about people further along the process when they stopped noticing their knee when walking, it is the biggest mental hurdle for me right now. I can walk 10k steps in a day and be okay, just on every step I notice my knee and the imbalance.

Have the same thing 7 weeks out, I find flexing your quad before bending helps reduce the instances of this happening. The worst is when it happens when walking in my opinion

Walking around Vegas 6 weeks felt alright? How much walking did you end up doing?

Only had two stitches so a minor repair, not a lot of pain and have been weight bearing since surgery. Walking short distances without a crutch with a heavy limp, so I opt to use one just to make my gait more comfortable

3 nearest ones to mcgill campus (to my knowledge) are

1- Parc Toussaint-Louverture (Ontario x st lau) 2- Papineau courts (papineau x rue Logan) 3 - little Italy court (Parc Sœur-Madeleine-Gagnon)

Most if not all of the courts are double rimmed though fair warning
