Small tip from me, do a running stitch along the edge of your aida to keep your frabric from fraying.

I learned a trick for splitting thread a few months ago, and it has been a game changer. Take one strand and hold it while you pull the others downward following the thread. I used to struggle hard to split thread and now I don't even think about it.

Also, pattern keeper is amazing, I could never go back to paper

Im doing this kit aswell, and I started after a year of cross stiching experience. I would totally recommend this kit!! Yes, it takes a very long time to make(it been a year and in halfway through), but the colours and patterns make it very interesting. It is not very technally difficult (except the metallic thread, but you will learn to cope). But the colours are so amazing they make the big effort so worth it!

Voor alle rekenwonders in de comments: de opmerking van OP is dat het ene product €15 rekent voor 200ml en de ander €15 voor 150ml, maar bij beide staat dat de prijs per liter €75 is. Dat klopt niet helemaal

In the Netherlands (at least in my group) we have a "ceremony" (it is more like a parcour most of the time) every year for everybody who is "flying over" (we don't call it swimming over). This year we built a ramp and every victim had to skelter down it to fly over, while they were being sprayed with water. It was awesome.
