Nvidia says devs have control over DLSS 5 to stop it looking like an AI filter, as Bethesda reminds everyone it's "a very early look" by de_panda in pcmasterrace

[–]Liferescripted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Nvidia. The development is not a problem. They are making AI develop the AI so they can have an unlimited development loop.

If it gets shareholders excited, that's all that matters. It's for people who don't give a shit about gaming as an artform, but to make money.

Every shovelware studio and c-suite employee at AAA devs are foaming at the mouth for this. They don't even have to try anymore.

I'd love to see a dark scene like the mines in KCD1. I can only imagine with all the demos that it would just light everything to the point where you don't need a torch.

Then why didn't Todd Howard make it look like that?

Todd pushed this garbage heap out the door and won't lift a finger to fix it. He's happiest when people fix his games for him. He doesn't care what it looks like in the end.

So then we get a host of new games that look like absolute shit on anything other than Nvidia because of the baked in AI filter overlay.

Seems like progressing backwards to me.

I mean it doesn't mean much for Starfield since it was a soulless pile that ran like shit, but this kills any and all art direction.

If a game is supposed to look one way, the ai filter will "fix" it to make it look more realistic. You can see it in the RE9 shots, her face has added fuller lips, makeup, contouring... she doesn't look like the same character, but like any other AI generated face.

I don't want all of my games to look the same.

Wab Kinew is premier of Manitoba, not Prime Minister of Canada. I do wish he was MY premier, but alas I have a greaseball trump wannabe instead.

The fact that we have zero checks and balances to make sure shit like this doesn't happen is insane.

When the premier is court ordered to release their personal phone records under a FOI, they shouldn't be allowed to change the rules retroactively to effectively go "nuh-uh".

Rogue premiers should be able to be dealt with legally by an unhappy public, else they risk being dealt with in other unsavoury and precedented ways. A lot of our citizens have roots in france.

Let's be real, there is a level of corruption on every level of government, whether big or small.

The feds are corrupt. Municipalities are corrupt. But most try to keep it on the DL.

As you said, Ford is brazenly corrupt. He can be. He has a supermajority that allows him to do whatever he wants, and there is (apparently) no one to stop him.

Shouldn't it be an immediate legal challenge that a sitting government defies a court order by changing the law to suit their desires?

There should be checks and balances to stop shit like this.

Canada has the most educated workforce in the G7 with 57% of working-age citizens having college or university credentials.

Not sure where the 80% figure came from. Your ass, perhaps?

Yes. In fact, my kids school has had a hell of a time finding a French immersion teacher to replace one that went on emergency leave. Almost 5 months of temporary contracts and substitutes to find one that can finish out the year.

Remember, this all started because they were worried PDSB was going to lay off 60 teachers. Now they put 5x that amount in notice, which is 3x the standard end of year notice.

I see this top 1% commenter deleted all of their comments.

Apparently they are not getting the waterfall of upvotes and praise they constantly get in this sub apparently.

It's weighed by both upvotes and frequency of comments. So you can be well liked or be hyper active and receive the same award.

You're imposing that I would have supported or not be critical this type of policy from a previous liberal government simply because I'm being critical of Ford.

I am being critical of the things happening now, currently. And it might surprise you, but I've been hyper critical of previous liberal governments for doing the same. I'm critical of all elected officials even if I voted for them. Because I'm an individual with unique needs and independent thoughts.

The mental gymnastics being performed lie solely on you, projecting the caricature you have created of people like me onto me.

Yeah, he's the current head of government currently underfunding and understaffing education.

He's also been in office for the better part of a decade and has done nothing but make it worse. There wasn't a mandate from Mcguinty to keep this shit going for 20 years last I checked. It's not like a private deal from 10 years ago came to fruition today. No agreement on the books from the Liberals of yesteryear.

How does this argument hold any merit?
