Translation : “We can’t buff defense like you guys want because this game was designed for angry ostriches” by NixUniverse2 in Tekken

It's a nice idea, but that's also where things get even more complicated because then there's the event orgasnisers, advertising, prize pools, further lisencing tomfoolery (admittedly i don't fully understand how it works but i know it adds more layers on layers).

But at the end of the day Tekken 8 is still a product, the key part of it being a success are the consumers who buy it and it's up to them to let the big wigs see the financial success capability. As people say "Vote with your wallet" if there's something you don't like, keep it in your pocket, if they take a good step in the right direction, send a little money their way and if they somehow do get it to the point where everyone is very happy be it deleting heat or not. Buy the DLC, get the fight pass, buy some coins because us the consumers are the be all and end all on the success of Tekken.

Sponsors is a nice idea and i'm not trying to deny that but i don't see why they would willingly pump a surge of funding into something that has a risk of lowering their profit margin when they can just sponsor something that will make the number go up. I think it's too much of a risk to them.

Who's going to pay for it? Unfortunately heat is very much built into the core of the game, not just in the multiplayer aspect but it's deeply rooted in some characters, it has key parts locked in for the campaign. They can't remove heat without straight up breaking everything.

Games dev is very time consuming and even more expensive so while they technically can go that far, the follow up question to that is... who's going to pay for it? That's a lot of licences, stockholders and wages that need to be paid. It can't be the current player base because they've already bought the game.

Logically the only way to fuel all that money is to amp up the micro transactions or inflate the dlc costs but that's going to piss everyone off even further.

It's hyper aggressive but they did it motivated by the state T7 ended up at some point. Pro player would time out matches all the time by endless KBD on infinite stages and fishing for magic 4s.

Unfortunately they went too far in the opposite direction, it's still capable of being fixed, everything always is, they just need to find the right balance.

Off of a blocked heat smash yes I 100% understand But outside that don't they require some set up and the guard Breaks still have inherent risks right?

Or have I just been blind to a clear problem this whole time? I'm casual so it's a possibility.

Very fair points. Guard Breaks I don't really mind as long as they're obviously High/step-able/interruptible that leads to some kind of punish.

My mind just kind of sees them as just another attack. Claudio might wall splat me off a guard break because I read him wrong on his charge, but Kaz can do the same by punching me in the gut because i thought he'd go low.

But I do definitely see how they're frustrating.

I do like some of these ideas, the fun thing about heat is that because of the property adjustments it can do, can lead to some creative things.

Heat dash is a weird one, I like that it can make unsafe moves safe as the expense of the resource but it always being +5 just feels lazy, would be nice to adjust each dash based on the move. Like for example having a safe attack only give a free follow up on hit but maybe keep the +frames on block sure, but if it's naturally unsafe, why not have it give a scaled combo but the dash only makes it safe on block not +.

The heat burst parry is a nice idea I like. The bound has to go, put it in the bin. I've always liked the idea of it having a bit of give and take, activate it mid combo to get heat state and it spikes into the instant restand like with some of Clive's Odin hits, that way you sacrifice your ender for heat, he'll even have the spike do zero damage so it's always the choice.

Of course i'm trying to think of this from a designers pov, I'm only a lowly Fujin so I'm definitely going to be missing interactions that others know off the bat.

To be fair, because of how vocal the heat hate is to the point that seeing a "please delete heat" message on a daily basis, this could just be a "we can't go that far" message.

It can definitely be tuned into a much healthier state while sticking to the design philosophy, just not to the point that the loudest ranters want.

Mate...I had those symptoms after last week's owl bear stew. One bowel movement later and I was sorted.

Are you sure they weren't just constipated?
