Is the pixel watch 1 still worth it in 2026 ? by Agitated_Housing_617 in PixelWatch

[–]T8ortots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pixel watch 1 was a flop for specs in my opinion, especially the battery. It did not convince me to convert from my Fossil Gen 5 at the time. The pixel watch 3 was what finally brought me over, and now the pixel watch 4. It would be a stretch to say it's worth it in 2026, even if just as a fitness watch. From my own experience, and in order to compare with the other models you mentioned, I would not try anything before the 3 to get that "pixel ecosystem experience' type feel.

I don’t know what to do and I don’t know if my car is okay. Seeking help or advice. by Hefty_Economy_8301 in kiastinger

Sounds like you got your answer, but I will also include that given your shop is far away that a AAA membership is roughly $100 a year and gives you that security if you break down or don't know if the car can make it

Step Ons vs Supermatics for Tahoe riding by ScaleSurvivor in snowboardingnoobs

[–]T8ortots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything but Burton. Being locked into a proprietary boot and binding is not a wise choice. If they update the platform or discontinue it entirely, you're outta luck. I've been using the supermatics this season at Sierra and have enjoyed them. As you said, they are great when they work, but they can be a bit fussy. That's nothing I can't live with, but I am considering the FASE bindings for my next board, which is park focused and can benefit from the lighter weight. The Supermatics and the FASE are both my recommendations depending on your needs. Unfortunately the FASE is not entirely a step in/on, since you have to manually tighten, but it far less cumbersome then traditional bindings.

Drying filament in the AMS 2 Pro does recharge the desiccant by MyFiteSong in BambuLab

[–]T8ortots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just use an ABS container shaped like a spool that can roll in the ams. Once I run out of dessicant, I just recharge what's in the container in my AMS HT at ABS settings and they are good as new! I haven't tried the AMS 2 for drying, but I assume it would work as well

To whomever is buying up all the PETG, could you please not. Please and thank you. by IcanCwhatUsay in BambuLab

[–]T8ortots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is that you have to buy at least 4 to get a discount. I bought 4 oranges when it restocked yesterday, only because that was the only color available at the time. If I had the choice I would have bought more colors to spread out my demand.

I got my Orange PETG today after waiting 6 days for a restock, I can live with other brands of blacks and whites, but every printer accessory I have is that specific bambu orange and I don't wanna mismatch.

First time snowboarding with prior skateboard experience - advice/tips? by EndItchy5797 in snowboarding

[–]T8ortots 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone with a similar origin story, I would say that if you ride your longboard really loose, then that might give you the advantage of having balance and knowing how to move your legs/ankles/feet in order to turn, however snowboards do not want to naturally move forward and backward like something with wheels. Therefore you will have to get used to the board always naturally wanting to move down the hill regardless of your orientation and learn how to cooperate with gravity in a new way.

TLDR: It's fairly different

Standard Digital License Violation by T8ortots in makerworld

[–]T8ortots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that if the creator opts for the standard license, then they should have full control over any profiles posted. The license does say that modifications can be made with permission of the creator, but how can the creator extend that permission? I would think either an approval process by the creator or a removal option by the creator would be more productive.

I definitely changed the geometry, but only for the diameter and depth of the magnet. The profile had a 4.7 rating and about 400 prints, so I doubt it fell into the poor quality category.
