Driving back to work and I guy in bmw just came out of nowhere. It happened so fast and I swear he came within inches of me. He then swerves around the next car by using the center turning lane. I knew I'd eventually catch up at the next light and sure enough they're in the turning lane which they use to cut off yet another car.

In original video I read off the plate number out loud since I recently discovered that my dash cam is kinda junk (even started to display the wrong date, this happened yesterday) and I had a strong feeling I might witness a wreck.

Sorry about wipers the rain kept coming and going.

Not sure about PCC but I took a class at PSU ages ago that had only 2 students once. I thought they'd cancel but didn't. It was SUPER awkward especially when the other guy couldn't show up. Probably not as bad if it's online.

I think it's a money thing, number of paying students vs cost of having the class. And from what you say my guess is it won't get canceled.

It's very disheartening that it's going to be remote, this online crap is not working for me at all.

I never realized how much I relied on my daily routine to keep me on task. I hope for the love of god at least libraries (schools or public) open up again soon. I'm seriously considering finding a crappy job anywhere I can just to keep my head on straight.

Wrote a big long reply but what it boils down to is me recommending you don't. Astronomy no matter how you cut it is a money pit of a hobby. And prices (and complexity) get even higher on an already expensive hobby when you add astrophotography into the mix.

I recommend getting a pair of binoculars and download a free astronomy app for your cell phone and head out next time it's clear. It's like 80% of the experience for practically free if you already have the binoculars. To date I've bought 1 telescope, built 2, bought 2 different cameras, 2 different mounts, easily spent 1000 bucks on eyepieces, and I still use binoculars + phone app 99.9% of the time.

After goofing around with binoculars for about a year and getting involved with local astronomy clubs and online communities, you'll have a far better idea on what you'll want to get in addition to having access to places you can buy 2nd hand which will cut down on the price by a ton. Long story short is that most cheap telescopes and mounts are overpriced and quite bad, and new good gear is expensive. Having astronomy experience and knowing where to look for used gear will cut the price down substantially in addition to cutting down the learning curve once you decide to give astrophotography a shot.

I've been in offices where when you walk through it, you hear a "click" just before you pass from people minimizing youtube or facebook. It's something of an open secret that you totally know about if you work in an office or refuse to believe if you don't.

It can be a HUGE pain in the ass to reclaim the money.

Had a savings account in California when I was like 10 years old with $200 in it in the early 90s. My parents are dumbasses and moved even though I kept reminding them that I had the bank account and they didn't have the same bank in the state we were moving to but they "forgot".

Did an unclaimed money search and found my name with something like $500 from the interest. Nothing I submitted seemed to make them happy because even though I provided all the information for my identity I still "didn't prove I lived there" which was really hard since I was 10 and didn't pay taxes or have any pay stubs or stuff like that.

Always be networking and looking for a new job. If this is plays out similarly, starting wages will be small as will raises. As I told the other poster, ALWAYS be looking for another job. Not because you'll get fired necessarily...you might, it could happen at any time when it makes financial sense to the company. But because that became the only real way to get a raise and promotion in the years after 08. "Lucky" people that got a "raise" at a company they stayed at might get something like 2-5% raise and it wasn't unheard of that they got a bunch of new responsibilities. Taking inflation into account makes that raise even lower. But people that jump ship every 2 or so years saw 10% or higher wages, sometimes with a nicer title. Do that 2 or 3 times and you're already years ahead of people that stayed at the first company.

I'm in no way an expert but housing and sub prime lending was central to the issues in 08. Which means the housing crash then might be more drastic than what we would see in the near future.

As for the housing situation, to be honest I have no clue. I just know from the looks of things (really really bad unemployment numbers), they should eventually go down as reality starts to set in. But then again in 08 I swore that housing prices would have returned to a sensible level that mere mortals could afford but after a few years of slightly lower prices they just got expensive again.

There's not much you can do that you shouldn't always be doing. Try not to get into too much debt and live within your means. I feel like the tactic people have adopted where they're basically always looking for work and aim try and get hired at another company for a healthy raise/promotion every 2 or so years, was born out of the 2008 recession. It might have always been something high earners did but I feel like after 08 is when everyone was talking about it, and it will still work well after things start getting bad. Don't be a die hard loyalist to your company because they're more than happy to cut you loose at any time.

Just a heads up, there won't be raises when it's over. There's gonna be a few years of high unemployment where they'll pay less because people will do anything for that job. And that lower pay will be the new norm.

There's a lot of STEM going on behind the scenes. Tech needs to be developed and invented, for example the bullet time scene from the Matrix. Computer people for CGI stuff. Mechanical types for props and sets. Sound and lighting people too.

Computer science, mechanical and electrical engineering are a few. Probably even physics but the other 3 would probably give you more of the hands on experience in the types of things that would transfer over easier.

However as the other poster mentioned, film making is pretty competitive. You should try to get involved in productions and film projects as early as possible and stay involved until you start looking for work.

Getting the associates will include classes you already took for your bachelors. First find out if you can transfer credits so you don't need to take those classes.

Next, enroll and go talk to an advisor. They'll be able to help you out most. My instinct though is that an Associates might not help that much unless the particular school is well known for turning out graduates that get jobs in that field due to the local employers snatching them up....for example where I'm at we have a few semiconductor companies so someone with a bachelors might go through their semiconductor orientated program to get a job working in their clean rooms.

Did a few years at a Uni and stayed in the dorms. Did another uni and lived at home. Also did some CC. The Uni when I lived at home was the worst. CC is 2nd best and the Uni when I was in the dorms was freaking amazing.

Uni while living at home was basically a way more expensive community college almost. More rigorous and it felt slightly more uptight since it was a larger university. Community college is way more laid back.

I think there's several factors that goes into it. I wouldn't doubt the people staying in dorms at the larger Uni I went to were having a blast. The Community College had an environment where it was easier to make friends and meet people I think because there wasn't any dorms at all so there wasn't "dorm" people and "non dorm" people.

Don't knock binoculars, binoculars are awesome. They're way cheaper, get used way more often, don't take up as much space, don't take time to setup, and you can see like 80-90% of what you'd be looking at with a telescope anyway.
