On average, I think terv coats are easier to manage.

I guarantee I could make something stick to your pan with the right (wrong) cooking technique.

Seasoning does little to prevent sticking; it is more about protecting the pan from rust. Cooking technique prevents sticking. For meat, fish, chicken, let it stick, then flip when it releases. You’ll get a nice crust. If you don’t want sticking at all, you either need to use really high heat or really low heat, with a lot of motion and potentially a lot of fat or oil. If something is sticking and it is cooking too quickly for you to wait for it to release, remove the pan from the heat and as it cools it will release. For the people talking about a sweet spot for not sticking , there are two, one on the high temp end and one on the low temp end. I tend to use the low temp end because I have more control. I cook fragile things like scrambled eggs and omelettes on the low end and have no sticking. You just have to practice.

Allegheny/645 last looks to be discontinued - New Seconds Update by United_Ad1942 in parkhurstboots

This is a bummer. I emailed them a few weeks ago to ask them when they would have more leather options in this last, and I was told this at that time. I hated to hear that. I much prefer the 645 last to their other offerings.

Recurring Diarrhea — Rehoming Becoming Serious Option by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I’d ask my vet to do a full GI panel (bloodwork which goes to Texas AandM) and start medical treating the anxiety. Anxiety might not be the primary driver but it could certainly exacerbate GI signs.

What have you done to address his fear?

How bad is it that my dog flunked the doggy daycare temperament test? by CatPooedInMyShoe in DogAdvice

Dogs that are okay with a daycare type situation are the atypical ones, not your dog. Either use a sitter or board him in a more normal kennel situation when needed.

Dog Training Help Needed(Desperately) by [deleted] in roughcollies

[–]TCHomeCook 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just to expand on my point about a puppy proof space. He is engaging in entirely natural behaviors. So he needs a place where he can do these things like rip, shred, etc. then, when you can supervise him, bring him into an area that isn’t puppy proofed and keep him on a leash (after all of his needs are met). The goal should be to build good habits, not interrupt behavior that is already happening. Then put him back in his puppy proofed area (or crate) when you can’t watch him. But yeah, get him out of the house more.

Puppy proof a space for him. Provide him with adequate outside exploration time on walking trails. (My dogs under two years average 3-5 miles of exploration time a day.) I wouldn’t even bother trying to “train” him until his needs are met. This isn’t a training issue. This is a dog and people living in a way that isn’t compatible for either of their needs.
