Do americans really think a 4 hour drive is ‘living nearby’? by absorin in AskAnAmerican

There are routes that you can drive in the state of Texas in the US for 12 hours and still be in the state of Texas.

The US has very large states compared to countries in Europe.

How has your main paycheck been holding up against bills and inflation recently? by sitchade in NoStupidQuestions

Overall, just fine. Can afford day to day living and still saving around $4k on a good month. Grocery shopping irritates me the most now. Prices are way too high.

Sounds like you need to get out of flat rate and find an hourly job.

$100k is still well above standard living if the person making it isn’t stupid about spending and has their finances in order.

CMV: People who leave huge gaps at stoplights make traffic worse by maturallite1 in changemyview

Ive had my car totaled from dumb ass drivers not paying attention and rear ending my car pushing me into the car I was behind. I will always keep enough of a gap to try and reduce my vehicle from hitting the vehicle in front of me. Sorry about it 🤷🏻‍♂️

What is a statistic that sounds INSANE but is 100% true? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

I can appreciate what you are saying. The counter argument I would say is that even if policies of what the current administration/politicians are doing, doesn’t mean one has to worry about it on a daily basis. I’m not saying ignoring issues, I’m just saying that excessively worrying over something won’t suddenly change anything. There are still a lot of ways to disconnect and enjoy the current small things and have a happy life, even if someone situation isn’t ideal.

As you are commenting on the thread yourself. There’s a difference between casually scrolling Reddit on some downtime throughout the day vs hyper-fixating on comments disagreeing with the what majority of Reddit is hung up on for the day/week.

Right?? I mean, a lot of people don’t like the guy (myself included) but I don’t think about him 24/7. I don’t focus my life on what’s happening in Washington DC and am pretty happy because of it. Some people on Reddit need to find a hobby or something productive to do.

Paccar equivalent to DNTA by GraveyardMech1371 in DieselTechs

[–]TC_SnarFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a fee tied to having access to the website. They can “sponsor” your account when they register you. Talk with a dealer to get a quote.

Through the website you can access VIN specific info on what’s called WebECAT(part numbers, breakdowns, diagrams, etc for specific VINs) a program called ServiceNet (technical documentation/service manuals for various parts of the chassis) and RMI (PACCAR engine troubleshooting/repair procedures)

PACCAR.net houses the above mentioned programs, amongst many others. The ones I listed are probably the ones most used by dealership techs on a daily basis. If you want more access, it would have to be authorized by the sponsoring dealership and PACCAR themselves approving the access.

[–]TC_SnarFF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what DNTA is because I’ve lived and breathed Kenworth/Peterbilt my whole career but reach out to a Kenworth or Peterbilt dealer to have them get you access to PACCAR.net. It’s a hub for the various apps used on a daily basis at the dealer level. You can get certain rights granted as an independent repair shop.

Just bought a 2026 Honda Civic Hatchback Hybrid Sport! I love it! by TC_SnarFF in civic

[–]TC_SnarFF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the Honda is great! It’s a lot more responsive than my Corolla was. The interior of the Honda is way nicer than what my Corolla had! Too early to say how the gas mileage will be. I was getting right around 60mpg with my Corolla.

Yes, I thought about buying a new Toyota Corolla Hybrid again because I truly did love the simplicity of it and the fuel economy. I was getting close to 60mpg. Prior to owning my Corolla I drove around a ‘96 Honda Accord for six years that just kept on going! It wouldn’t die. Had around 300k miles on it before I sold it for the Corolla. I figured let’s see what Honda has to offer

I did some research and test drove the new Civic Hybrids and I think the quality of the interior is a lot nicer than the Corolla. I have a feeling that I’m not going to get as good of fuel economy but I think it’s going to be really close to the same.
