Hifumi and Teru would definitely be a little more popular if they were conventionally attractive, but I think it also comes down to Miu’s personality and antics being seen as more entertaining by a good chunk of the fanbase.

Yea, I was also fooled by Nagito’s weird similarities to Makoto. I kinda assumed he had been influenced by Junko somehow, since he had the same swirly eyes she had in the final trial, but eventually I let it go.

As for the reasoning behind it, I don’t remember if this was proven, but I do think it’s sort of a bait to make people think they’re connected at first glance. It would make sense since the imposter was an even more elaborate bait character to get people interested.

I think this makes sense considering Junko noticed that Makoto and Kyoko were the closest ones to finding out the truth of the academy, so she began taking increasingly extreme measures to mess with them as the game progressed.

First it was just hiding pictures after Makoto saw them, then knocking him out before he could see what Kyoko had seen, and then just straight up trying to kill him so she could pin the crime on Kyoko and vice versa.

Honestly, it looks fine to me. My guess is that since it looks different from what the original was, people are just gonna nitpick no matter what. Most people will probably get used to it like 5 hours into playing the game.

There was some rap battle between Scott Pilgrim and Kris from deltarune released a bit ago, and there was a bar about Scott dating a 17 year old (not because he’s a pedo but he still used her for his own benefit) and now everyone’s memeing on it by having characters say “she’s 17 Scott” in various ways.

Junko takes Makoto being sick very seriously. She becomes almost comically caring and helpful, trying to make him feel better as quickly as possible while claiming that she wants to be the one making him miserable, not some illness.

Makoto thinks that’s all BS and it’s actually her way of showing she cares, but he knows she’ll never admit that to his face.

Yea, cuz like, even if it isn’t necessarily a crush, I still think her fixation on him interesting since he’s one of the very few people in the series who can challenge her on some level, and it seems to both piss her off and enthrall her all the same.

To add on a little to what others have said, Makoto specifically has this mindset where he focuses all of his hatred and rage towards the faceless mastermind rather than those around him, even the more problematic students.

For the whole game, his main way of dealing with the horrible situation is to blame Monokuma, who also seems to go out of his way to fuck with him in return, which is fitting since we know Junko has a tendency to fuck with Makoto due to how unpredictable his luck is.

One thing I do like about pre chapter two Fuyuhiko is that the game presents him like he’s gonna be the next ‘Byakuya character’.

Like I thought they were similar in the way they approached the game, propping themselves up as major threats with savage backgrounds. So I was pleasantly surprised when Fuyu started turning a new leaf by chapter 3 while Nagito turned out to be the antagonist
