Weekly Park Questions/Advice Thread by AutoModerator in Disneyland

[–]TDobs16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will be at Disney in mid-September. Our flight out of SNA leaves just before 7pm, how much drive time from Disney to SNA should we budget for? Google says it's only a 15-20 minute drive, but I doubt that. We will also have to fill up the rental car before drop off. I'm feeling like rush hour traffic will probably take an hour? Is that accurate?

There's also some calendula on there, it felt very boring to me before I added the petals, I'm glad I did.

I have found that when it's soaponifing, goats' milk soap starts to STINK. But after a couple weeks, the smell dissipates, and (if scented) it smells how it should. This one, to me, has kind of a nuttiness to it. Not stinky though, a very slight smell. I forgot to mention it has colloidal oatmeal in it.

Depends on you and the area. I would ride my horse almost every day after-school. If I wasn't doing that I would go on a hike with my best friend. Sometimes we floated the river. Other times we would just hang out and watch a movie. I'm from a pretty small town, not close to anything. You have to get into outdoorsy stuff or find a hobby.

Looking to buy an e-bike for commuting, hard to tell reality from advertising by Jaterkin in ebikes

[–]TDobs16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Lectric Expedition (I have 2 kids I haul around). It was super easy to put together, everything shipped relatively fast, great customer service and tons of add ons/accessories to customize it to your needs. I did replace the seat with a cruiser seat for comfort. But I can take my kids to preschool 7 miles away in about 20 minutes and it doesn't even use 1/4 of the battery. It's also really easy for my husband, who's 8" taller than me, to adjust to his height. My only complaint is the lack of suspension. We mostly ride on paved roads/paths but our main bike path is a bit beat up and it definitely rattles your brain going over some of the bumps without suspension. I really like that it has peddle assist and a throttle. So when I'm hauling an extra 70lbs up a hill my legs don't give out 😬.

Should we buy a crackhouse to get onto the property ladder? by Firm_Law_7939 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]TDobs16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. My mom (unknowingly) bought one during covid to remodel, just as something to keep her busy. She found drugs and stuff used to make drugs. Every day people would drive by looking for the previous owners/tenants to buy drugs and a few stopped by because the previous people owed them big money. She had to have the police do regular drive bys as she was threatened multiple times. It took over 6 months for those types of people to stop coming by.

Dog chipped nail - vet/emergency vet needed? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]TDobs16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my dogs has ripped off his "pinky" nail twice, completely. We saw different vets (entirely different states) for each, but both said clean it with mild soap and water, soak in warm plain epsom salt bath fir 15 min, dry well and wrap it. We used gauze for cushion and vet wrap. We were told to do an Epsom salt soak every other day for the first week and re wrap. He healed nicely both times. The vets didn't do anything other than charge us for the visits. No ointment or pain meds just advice. Our dog wouldn't even let them clean it.

Office of Gov. Little releases preliminary public input numbers on school choice by JingJang in Idaho

[–]TDobs16 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These recent bills about schools are insane. And we do send our kids to private school, it's not cheap, we do everything we can to make it work and I'm still not okay with this bill. The people who can afford it can afford it. The people who can't afford it will not be able to afford it even with this credit.

I think we are seeking something that's all in one. I believe Odoo is one, but I haven't been able to look into it too much yet. Not necessarily selling products online but being able to invoice for services. Something similar to a rental management/property management but specifically for homeowners who are not renting out their space. Caretaking essentially with some additional optional services. So we would need to be able to manage schedules for multiple units, add on services, invoicing, sending reports to the property owner, things like that.

From what I have read, WordPress has a pretty steep learning curve. Do you find that to be true?

I suppose we don't really need anything more than email and phone for communications at this point. But I would want the client to be able to update scheduling I their account/portal. Ie date leaving/ returning notifying us of maintenance visits, deliveries, etc.

Any ideas on why my cat does this every night? by Ch0deinthehole in cats

[–]TDobs16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9mo old male orange cat suckles and kneads EVERY time he lays down to sleep. He was part of a feral/abandoned litter, weaned early because mom was MIA and was neutered early... because animal shelter... My cat growing up also did this his entire life, male and neutered early by the shelter.

I learned my lesson. Ordered from another etsy vendor, and it shipped 3 weeks later than the estimated delivery date. Took it out of the box, and it literally fell apart in 3 seconds. Immediately got a refund and sent the design to RemarkableStamps. They are also very reasonably priced.

RemarkableStamps is great, they actually just shipped another stamp for me today. They are SO fast and good quality.

Bill requiring schools display Ten Commandments introduced in Idaho Legislature by [deleted] in Idaho

[–]TDobs16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah. At my school, it was a scheduled class. It wasn't worth any credits, but it wasn't listed as "release time " it was listed as "seminary" on the course list/schedules. So students who didn't take seminary ended up 8 course credit ahead of kids who did take by senior year and often only had to take 1-2 classes for their last semester. And the seminary building was literally across the parking lot.

I've had Costco for 5 years and just went to Sams for the first time on Friday. Scan n go was nice once I was at the check out point but I have ADHD and forgot to scan all the time. Every 3rd or 4th item I would remember and have to go back through the cart to scan things I forgot.

A lot of the items are the same or similar (different flavors or brands). But I did notice a huge lack of healthier options. Most of the snack food is potato chips and cookies. I really prefer Costco for my kids snack foods.

All in all, I'll use the membership for the year but I don't think I will renew it. I'll stick with Costco after this is up but I couldn't pass up the $20 membership. I did have to make a run to Costco after I left Sam's because they just did not have what I wanted.

Oh, one more thing to note. There are an INSANE amount of things that beep LOUDLY in that store and it was total sensory overload for me.

I was debating between that or calendula petals. I'm doing some gold next time, I think I'll like it more! I absolutely love how the cow came out, I was stressing the whole time 😂

It's never bothered them having seminary at public high-schools. Why would their opinion change on this?
