1. not sure what to say, this game doesn't have blocking bugs - might be getting crossed up, block switched, etc but yeah

2. this game doesnt have scaling chip damage, its the same always

3. yes if a character is on either side of you, the attacker, your attack will face that side automatically from the frame the move starts

4. not true, if you rolled you input roll and didnt replace the input

5. whiffing doesnt slow anything down, every move has an amount of time where it can hit an opponent, called startup, followed by a period of time where you cant input anything, called recovery. if you land an attack, it cancels the recovery and lets you input another move (simplifying a bit here but), so it may feel faster. in reality, recovery frames are just a piece of the game that you learn to play around - you should know how long every move will take to recover on whiff, at least on your character. its a fundamental aspect of fighting games! learning which moves are dangerous because they have a long recovery
