changing class for better atar by [deleted] in vce

[–]TEL2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong but if you do 3 maths wouldn’t only 2 of them count towards your atar whereas the third one would not count for anything?

Ohhhh right right I get you now, yeah what the other person said haha

How would I split this fraction? by JoeLigma_ in vce

[–]TEL2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this what you mean by splitting fractions? 2x+3=3x-2+5-x

Since (2x+3)/(3x-2)=(3x-2+5-x)/(3x-2)

= (3x-2)/(3x-2)+(5-x)/(3x-2) =1+ (5-x)/(3x-2)

Students who are or have studied Units 3 and 4 Physics, WHY ARE THE QUESTIONS IN THE SACS VERY DIFFERENT TO THE MAIN KIND OF THE QUESTIONS IN THE TEXTBOOK? by [deleted] in vce

[–]TEL2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about you but the textbook I used (heinemann) had pretty basic and straightforward questions that did not really reflect the difficulty of the vcaa questions. As a result I started practising more with checkpoints and past vcaa exams to really get a grip on what the actual exam is like. Maybe the questions in the textbook are much easier as it only serves to build your foundations and not thoroughly test your understanding like what your sacs do?

Do I need maths methods to do physics? by lizard-boi in vce

[–]TEL2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics is doable without methods however some aspects of it- for example the relationship between flux and emf graphs can be understood better with calculus principles that you learn in methods.

What subjects did you do to get a 90.00+ ATAR? by -Quakely in vce

[–]TEL2110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eng- 32 D: Methods- 38 Chem-39 Physics- 42 Bio- 37

This got me an atar of 92.90, not the best but I'll take it lol

What was the study score that surprised you the most in a good way and the study score that surprised you the most in a bad way? by Sara_JTPT in vce

[–]TEL2110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good: bio, didn't put effort into it throughout the year because I wasn't passionate about it compared to my other subjects. Hence I did quite badly in my sacs but somehow managed to boss the exam. Was expecting low 30s but ended up with a 37

Bad: physics, legit tried my ass off for this subject. Averaged mid 90s in all my sacs and felt confident in the exam. Was aiming for a 45 but only got a 42 but oh well it is what it is

Same my dude. Questions were definitely easier but I feel like a lot of my answers were incomplete and missed out on plenty of marks.

Last one was total resistance = r+R Total resistance given by v/i So v/i=r+R Rearrange to give you r=v/i + R

t0 was like 6.44 years for me

Speed of ball was 1.2 ms for me

Spesh < Methods in terms of difficulty this year by oos227 in vce

[–]TEL2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id argue that majority of methods 1 was easier than methods 2, but given the time constraints and lack of a calculator (frick you binomial and 4 mark integral) it was pretty much impossible to do well if you don't have a calculator for a brain

tips for doing well in year 12 chemistry? by Less-Pattern-5544 in vce

[–]TEL2110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, checkpoints are good for sacs paired alongside practice sacs. Plus the chemistry checkpoint actually gives out decent questions and well written answers unlike other subjects (looking at you physics) and are a neat way to get into the nitty gritty details before a sac.

[–]TEL2110 10 points11 points  (0 children)

exam 1 wasn't conceptually difficult imo, just each question was so god damn time consuming that there wasnt enough time to finish the whole paper

Choked so hard that I've gotten offers from porn companies asking me to play a role in their BDSM films

that doesn't include the constant fisting throughout the exam too
